Six feet tall Caucasian UCLA shooter. Two injured. Lockdown.

According to the Daily Bruin, the shooter has been described as a Caucasian man who stands around 6-feet tall. He was last seen wearing a black jacket and black pants.

Finally we can call a spade a spade without proper accusations of racialism.

Beat me to it. LA is a crazy place. I felt naked without my OC pistol, especially in East LA.

A shooter in anti gun Califorina at a liberal college. Wish it was just a drill, but two more dead in a gun free zone. When will America figure it out.

UPDATE!! Two dead in murder-suicide at UCLA; LAPD says 'campus is now safe' finally!

Helicopter news footage showed students walking in a line with their hands above their heads as armed police officers scoured the campus.

People in California have been properly conditioned by the state to submit. It's very off putting.

Conditioned...sort of, like being conditioned to want to continue breathing. The folks in California are quite familiar with the consequences of not complying with a California based LE "request."

I respectfully refer you to the Dorner Constitution Suspension Event.

Dudes killed were a professor and his wacko PhD seeking student. I assume that the professor would not let the student get his PhD, many do this as they want their slave labor for as long as possible. But discussing the world of academia in respect to PhD processes is beyond the scope of this forum.

    Just information and guesses.

Don't worry students, they gave you those chairs to place against the doors - what more do you want? They're good quality chairs ! Shut up already.

Yep. As suspected. Mental illness may have played a part.

i am sure LA Police Chief Beck's undergrad Occupational Studies-Vocational Arts degree presents a great stepping stone in stating his unequivocal mental health diagnosis of the shooter by saying '...mental issues were involved...." as it appears there was an alleged academic dispute between the two men.

now, Law Abider, throughout history there have been disputes which have involved shootings and the shooter's mental health has never been questioned, e.g., Burr/Hamilton immediately comes to mind!

now when someone commits suicide, there is an acknowledged suicidal paradigm which provides, if a forensic biopsychosocial is appropriately initiated and completed, insight into the individual's mental health status prior to completing their suicide. HOWEVER, normally, unless judicially ordered, such a workup is not requested, therefore, not accomplished due to the ROI in both time and cost.

Bottom line, the the august LA Police Chief is not qualified to make unequivocal statements about a suspects mental health, especially with a vocational arts undergrad degree.

Well, its likely that the student knew his own code and that it is also likely that the prof stole it ... IMO

Of course settling this with gunfire is not an appropriate way of dealing with the issue. But ya piss someone off (maybe not the first time, who knows?) enough, gun-play is not a sign of mental issues but of one pissed off person.

Not all bad decisions are mental health issues .. but just bad decisions. Life is full of them.

Well, now they're coming for your "bullet button" rifles too. No recognized right to bear arms at all, may as well live in Mexico in that respect. And there is no relief in the court system at all. We let it get to the point where if we want legally recognized rights, you have to fight for them with blood. And we all know that's not going to happen because there's still plenty of food and entertainment. Will the taxation and regulation ravage the economy enough to motivate enough people to slay Leviathan? I don't think so, if anything something worse will replace it. Shame.

Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind? ” -Bastiat

I don't "need" to openly carry a handgun or own an "assault weapon" any more than Rosa Parks needed a seat on the bus.

No "obsession" indicated; however, people have grown weary of your incessant cute remarks - I find that so sad as you could have been a much more productive member here with a different style.

I see indications that there are obsessions at work here, when I search for new posts and see dozens with all the same user name, and know that each one is not worth the electrons to even see if it is in response to a thoughtful comment.

I suspect that others feel similarly. I watch the numbers logged on dwindle, and the numbers of new posts dwindle, and references to walled-gardens like FaceBoog increase.
