    What is the Alternative Right?

    http://alternative-right.blogspot.co...ive-right.html
    • Nobody likes the mainstream parties. There’s a simple reason. If you’ve ever tried to pick a restaurant in a group in ten friends, or sat in on a committee meeting, you know how when you get a large group together, you end up not with the intersection of their best traits, but their traits in common, which are by definition unexceptional.

When people assemble a party like the mainstream Democrats or Republicans, they’re trying to distill a wide range of perspectives into a single platform. For example, the Democrats have to accommodate classical liberals, progressives, Utopians, anarchists, Socialists, left-greens, feminists and Communists. You can’t make everyone happy, so instead you focus on symbolic and mostly arbitrary issues.

The right is even more confused because the right is not based on a singular idea (egalitarianism) for a singular group (the discontented) as leftism/liberalism is. The right is based on the idea of finding methods of living that work well, preserving values that uphold those methods, and basically “conserving” good things against the onslaught of easy answers like commerce, popularity and hedonism.http://www.amerika.org/politics/what...rnative-right/
    • The mainstream right failed, which was a good thing because the mainstream right had become a Leftist hybrid, believing in using right-wing methods to spread left-wing ideals of egalitarianism worldwide. Ironic as it was that the post-Soviet world Leftist crusade came from right-wing parties, they were more effective than the left owing to more effective right-wing methods and appeal to normal people.http://www.amerika.org/politics/what...rnative-right/
    • http://www.xenosystems.net/what-is-the-alt-right/
    • The alt right is an online movement opposed to political correctness, multiculturalism, feminism and mainstream conservatism. It’s primarily comprised of young white men. While a large portion of its adherents are white nationalists, not all of the folks tweeting out the hashtag are concerned with enforcing Aryan supremacy. The alt right is an umbrella term which includes multiple ideologies — everyone from anarcho-capitalists, neo-monarchists, American nationalists, men’s rights advocates, “identitarians,” and even out-and-out neo-Nazis all claim to be apart of the alt right.

The main activity of the alt right is trolling. The Google definition of trolling is to “make a deliberately offensive or provocative online posting with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them.” The alt right getting a speech from Hillary Clinton is a sign their trolling is working.http://dailycaller.com/2016/08/24/wh...the-alt-right/
    • Before we define the Alt-Right, it is important to first define its nemesis Conservatism, Inc., which the Alt-Right has always been a reaction against:

      What Is Conservatism, Inc.?

1.) At the apex of Conservatism, Inc., you have the donor class, which is basically a group of millionaires and billionaires whose primary concern in life – there are other concerns such as signaling their high social status – is protecting their money from the grasping hands of “big gubmint.” This is the definition of “freedom.”

      http://www.occidentaldissent.com/201...the-alt-right/
    • WaPo Glossary: 'Cuckservative'
A portmanteau, from "cuckold" and "conservative," used to troll people who call themselves conservative but support immigration reform and multiculturalism. The implication: A white American who allows mass immigration into his country is no different than a man allowing other men to sleep with his wife.

    • This week, the phrase “alternative right” enters mainstream consciousness as the vested franchisees of the current system attempt to explain the dissent rising around them like a maelstrom. They wanted a handy phrase to describe the mostly young, post-libertarian conservatives who are supporting Donald Trump. Calling them racists and Nazis has failed, so there needs to be a new slur, and establishment conservatives and liberals alike would like to give the alternative right a bad name.

Most of them have forgotten the roots of the name alternative right, which finds its inspiration in the phrase alternative rock. Back at the origins of that term, it described music which could not find support in the mainstream but believed itself a legitimate inheritor of the role of rock music. In the same way, “alternative right” describes right-leaning thinkers who believe society has shifted so far to the left that truth cannot be told, so it needs a new medium.http://www.amerika.org/politics/the-...e-right-rises/
    • http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/p...ment/89332420/
    • In many ways the “alt-right” is a rebranding of classic white nationalism for the 21st century. As BuzzFeed described the movement: “In short, it’s white supremacy perfectly tailored for our times: 4chan-esque racist rhetoric combined with a tinge of Silicon Valley–flavored philosophizing, all riding on the coattails of the Trump boom.”

The “alt-right” opposes diversity and immigration, arguing that those policies are a form of “white genocide.” It embraces racism, sexism, anti-Muslim bigotry, and anti-Semitism and sees its goal as usurping the traditional conservative movement, which it views as feckless and weak, in favor of a brand of nationalism.

With the ascension of Trump, the “alt-right’s” chosen candidate, as the nominee of the Republican Party, its mission is all but accomplished.

The following is a survey of the key concepts of the “alt-right,” the major figures and media outlets in the movement, and reaction to the "alt-right."
      [ ... ]
      https://mediamatters.org/blog/2016/0...e-media/212643
    • Exactly who and what defines the alt-right is hotly debated in conservative circles, but its most visible proponents—who tend to be young, white, and male—are united in a belief that traditional movement conservatism has failed. They often criticize immigration policies and a "globalist" agenda as examples of how the deck is stacked in favor of outsiders instead of "real Americans." They bash social conservatives as ineffective sellouts to the GOP establishment, and rail against neo-conservative hawks for their embrace of Israel. They see themselves as a threat to the establishment, far bolder and edgier than Fox News. While often tapping into legitimate economic grievances, their social-media hashtags (such as #altright on Twitter) dredge up torrents of racist, sexist, and xenophobic memes.

Trump's new campaign chief denies that the alt-right is inherently racist. He describes its ideology as "nationalist," though not necessarily white nationalist. Likening its approach to that of European nationalist parties such as France's National Front, he says, "If you look at the identity movements over there in Europe, I think a lot of [them] are really 'Polish identity' or 'German identity,' not racial identity. It's more identity toward a nation-state or their people as a nation." (Never mind that National Front founder Jean Marie Le Pen has been fined in France for "inciting racial hatred.")http://www.motherjones.com/politics/...breitbart-news
    • In my view, this is totally wrong: the Alternative Right is an alternative to white nationalism as much as the Republicans.

The goal of the Alternative Right is to establish principles by which civilizations thrive, in contrast to the dying principles upon which we base our current time.

These include nationalism, naturally since all other options have failed, but also extend to many other options. In particular, the Alternative Right studies how the the common sense opinion of a population is replaced by that of its professional politicians.

A better way to view the Alternative Right: a recognition that liberal democracy has failed, and a searching for alternatives which are both not oppressive and not prone to decay like liberal democracy.

Of course the establishment wants it to be equated to white nationalism — they fear it!http://www.amerika.org/politics/is-t...m-in-disguise/
    • Alternative right in my mind means two things: (1) right-wing (2) in ways that the mainstream will not acknowledge. This means actual conservatives, since mainstream conservatives have always been liberal apologists at least in part, and so have failed to achieve anything over their 200 year long slow retreat. Alternative right as a term is used like the phrase “alternative music” once was, meaning that which the mainstream is not yet ready for but will mine for ideas once its own get too stale.

Its main subjects of scorn tend to be out-of-touch, left-wing elites in politics, business, academia, and the mainstream media who they believe to be actively ruining society through their aggressive embrace of feminist, multicultural, and post-modernist ideas.

Not really. Our main source of scorn is mob rule, which is enabled by democracy, equality and altruism.http://www.amerika.org/politics/corr...rnative-right/
    • What is the Alt-Right?

Most of you normies probably understand politics through the GOP vs. Democrats or Conservatives vs. Liberal models. That is understandable, as that is all the mainstream media tends to focus on if they can get away with it. The Alt-Right rejects this simple binary form of politics for the following reasons:
      (i) It is a false dichotomy
(ii) It ignores the metapolitical dimension
(iii) It embeds false premises in the political debatehttp://alternative-right.blogspot.co...alt-right.html

The problem with humanity is individual humans.

"The problem with humanity is individual humans.

It is not government; it is not ideology; it is not Hitler or Satan. It is individual humans. They always find someone or something to blame, but that is a lie. The problem is that too many people are individualistic to the point of denying reality, a condition we call solipsism.

This takes us back to the Greek ideal, which is seeing hubris — or rising above one’s place in a natural hierarchy by moral character and ability — as the primary evil of humankind, and the destroyer of civilization. Like all effective evils, it takes many forms, and the form is always pleasing to lure in the unwary, which is why pleasant-sounding ideas like egalitarianism, tolerance, diversity, inclusion and pluralism are the cloak of evil in the current era."

    From the Christian Science Monitor

“Like my grandma said when her pressure cooker exploded: ‘You’ve got to vent that thing or it’s going to blow,’” says Michael Hill, the president of the secessionist League of the South, who counts himself as a member of America’s alt-right community. Politics, as well, “needs a little relief valve.”

Historians trace the movement’s roots to the 1950s, when the GOP establishment began ousting extreme elements such as racists, anti-Semites, and members of the John Birch Society. The term itself was coined as recently as 2008 in a speech to the H.L. Mencken Club by political philosopher Paul Gottfried, who defined the alt-right in part as those who are “convinced that we are right in our historical and cultural observations while those who have quarantined us are wrong.”

"My reading of the alt-right is that they go beyond saying ‘liberals’ in the narrow sense of the left-wing of the American political spectrum,” adds Thomas Main, a Baruch College, School of Public and International Affairs, CUNY public affairs professor who is writing a book about the alt-right. “I think [the alt-right has] a problem with the whole shebang of democratic liberalism. They’re saying: ‘It’s not true that people are created equal.’ That’s when things start spiraling out of control because then a moderate alt-right position might be that white people are going to rise to the top if you stand back and allow things to happen. But if they don’t rise to the top, then another step is necessary: ‘We better make sure that they stay at the top.’ That’s when we get into really hairy stuff.”

so nightmare, are you also writing a non-fiction (presume minimal factitious material was used) tome and provided a sample so all might appreciate the technique and writing style of such a learned individual? OR

are you just incredibly bored in front of your computer and through you would share your cut and paste skills?

especially since this is so uncharacteristic for even one who's commentary from their forum signatory section states, in part:quote Eschew word salad. unquote.

while i will state the first segment was interesting per se, by the third installment ...getting kinda olde and tiring.

The "alt-right" is just another boogeyman constructed to draw attention away from the words and actions of those whose only principles are self-serving.

The Day Reagan Yelled At Black People. David Cole at Taki's Magazine.

"To put a new spin on the old put-down of vegans, how do you know if you’re a member of the alt-right? Don’t worry—if you’re not, someone will tell you in the comments section.[my emphasis] Alt-rightists love being able to cry “he’s not one of us!” Milo Yiannopoulos? He thinks he’s one of us, but he ain’t. Ann Coulter? Nah, I hear she likes black guys. Jared Taylor? On blacks and browns he’s great, but he’s too soft on Jews. David Cole? He was a hero with his Holocaust revisionism, but I read he’s a Zionist!

...just a fad, nothing more...will not be much to discuss after the next installment of KUWTK is aired.

Conversation? Get over you'sef'. It is instruction, siddown and shaddap.

You may ask questions and discuss the subject matter, or do your homework and read the outside material.

How many interminable threads are there of beardless children prating "anarchy" and "libertarian"? Well here are the adults making it work now, today, in contemporary realpolitik. And the young are welcome.

Listen to me, a week after discovering Alt-Right, and I haven't even read AmRen yet, though I've known of it as the boogerman since studying Confederate culture and history.

    Thanks for your contribution.

Op, aka, Mr. Word-salad. Cutting and pasteing from Wikipedia, my my surrendering your panoply of words and phrases simply to espouse upon us your new "alt-right " beliefs and theory's. Please allow me to opine. Members of the alt-right consist of (1) old rich white guys, (2) old poor white guys (3) no Jewish folks (4) no folks of color (5) may be a few white woman with Mrs.Trump as the quasi-Queen.

The members of the alt- right group believes that the Country/World and the posterity thereof would be a much better place if there were no Jews, no folks of color, no one exercising their Natural God given rights. The alt- right is a combination of Nazi Germany rule and unlimited Monarchy, I.E. 17th and 18th century England.. They endeavor to create a " oligarchy " of sorts, they are the " quintessence" of modern day " tyranny ". Their gerrymandering, procrustean actions will pale in comparison to their " despotism "

The thought of hearing the words " hail Trump, hail Trump," long live Trump, long live Trump," have me inwardly bleeding to death" for my family and the future of this great nation. FYI, I am no great fan of Mrs. Clinton however, I support a " Republic " over a Monarchy, I support Liberty for all over Tyranny.
Regarding Mr.Trump and the alt- right group, They call to mind the words of that great worldly Patriot, Mr. Thomas Paine to wit, " to argue with a man who has renounced the use and authority of reason, and whose philosophy consists in holding Humanity in contempt, is like administering medicine to the dead, or endeavoring to convert an atheist by Scripture."

Please forgive me for taking Mr Paine's name in vain by mentioning such a tyrant as Trump in the same paragraph has a great patriot like Mr. Paine.

    Trump = Tyranny
    Hilary = Mediocrity

    I'll take mediocrity.

No one will compare these two to Madison v Jefferson.
Trump and Clinton are what they call in the horse racing business " best of mediocre lot" which is not saying much for the future commander in chief of our nation.. That being stated. Mrs Clinton has a better pedigree in terms of politics. She smoothes politicians and Mr. Trump simply purchases politicians.. I prefer the lessor of " both evils".I'll take sub- mediocrity, iinstead of " trump way or the highway". My .02

I'm not so sure that a better pedigree is synonymous with a better history OR that we should expect better things from her. Let's not forget the potential SCOTUS appointments.

We have to first get to 2020 with the ability to respond effectively.

In re your #15 above, you clearly have no idea of what you write. Alt-right celebrates separate diversity.

Then you close with another insincere valediction, with so little regard that you failed to proof and correct on this present day.

Yes, a diverse group of old ignorant white people. The alt- right group makes me a shamed of being white similar to how Nazis made German folks a shamed of being German..

They are repugnant to our sacred " Declaration of Independence "
Even a half witted grammar/spelling Nazi like yourself should be capable of ascertaining that the vile rhetoric they espouse and their anti liberty theme to all except the alt- right is un-American.

There is not one libertarian amongst the whole prejudice group..

You that would cast your vote to condemn a generation, or possibly two, to the tribulations of a potential 6-3 SCOTUS...6-3 the wrong way that is.

    Liberal anti-liberty claptrap from another anti-liberty liberal...with a gun...maybe.

I support Liberty for one and all, unlike the old ignorant white guys that are affiliated with alt- right that only believe liberty is theirs to have and behold.
They have a right to exercise their beliefs, as do I, however I shall never condone prejudice..

OC for ME, you are correct in that I am a gun owner.

In all that racist rhetoric, I see no mention of the term " liberty".

Again the laureate of word salad aka nightmare espousing the dogma of the anti -liberty, alt- right group. The malefactor's of said group obviously inveigled Mr. Word-salad in to believing their fallacious anti- liberty belief's.

Indeed even bigots in this country have a 1st amendment right under the constitution, however they shall still be held account to God, for violating the Natural God given Rights of all mankind.

We must beware of the pitfalls of " antiquarianism " and must remember that for our purposes our only interest in the past is for the "light" it shines upon the present.

We must be weary of the Nazis clothed in the veil of red, white and blue and owning to the name of the alt-right!
