More states allowing permitless gun carry ... self defense as ‘natural born’ right.

Amid the rising number of Americans licensed to carry a concealed handgun, more states are passing laws that don’t require a permit to carry firearms, embracing the view that self-defense is a “natural born” right.

I've only been saying that RKBA is a natural right for years and years ... nice to see some agree with this fact.

Nothing there to make you stand out from the crowd of proponents of RKBA.

There are keyboard jockeys and then there are real workers.

My thanks and congratulations to the real workers who have made significant and crucial advances in how State statute respect our RKBA. Every State that moves to permit-free (or constitutional) carry, makes it a little easier for the next State legislature to follow suite.

And every State that recognizes a right to carry without getting a permit, moves the socio-political-legal framework of the country a little bit in the right direction. Judges tend to take some notice of the current state of affairs in making decisions on matters of what is normal conduct in this nation. Explicitly, for example, the SCOTUS cited how many States had banned execution of those who committed otherwise capital offenses before they turned 18 years of age as part of the rational for the court imposing that standard on the entire nation under the cruel and unusual clause of the constitution.

Jack hatted keyboard jockeys who encourage violation of law, or who think being an uncouth, foul mouthed idiot toward legislators do nothing to help with real legislative progress. Those who understand how to engage in practical politics, using incrementalism while not compromising on core principles, and who engage in the years' long work--much of it unheralded such as helping to elect imperfect but decent candidates--to make progress are the ones to whom we owe thanks.

^ ^ ^ And thus should the many activists on this forum, stand up and take a bow. Not only do they defend with aplomb our RKBA on a daily basis, but set aside personal differences and rise to meet the challenges whenever called upon to respond.

Yes. Those members of this forum who are actually activists are among those to be thanked and congratulated. The activists tend to recognize the progress being made and understand how far we've come in the barely two decades since congress felt it was safe to ban entire groups of common and popular firearms.

But there are too many who post here and on other forums who are not activists. Some are harmless cranks looking for simply sociality. Others stir up scat and cause contentions needlessly. Some try to hijack the RKBA community to their own wacky causes. I think some are actually agent provocateurs hoping to incite law-abiding gun owners to something that will harm both the individual and the RKBA community. Those who consistently post about how they disregard laws or who tacitly encourage others to disregard laws very likely fall into the latter, most dangerous category.
