I am just curious what kind of fool would make their choice based on a bookie?
I dunno.
No offense, but it makes about as much sense to me as making a choice based on the promises (
sic for lies, distortions, and exaggerations) of someone trying to get himself elected. I mean really, who has the resources to so thoroughly investigate a candidate such that he can
know he's making a
genuinely responsible choice? So, what is the poor recipient of the pandering really doing? Taking a chance.
And, a very long-shot chance at that. Hear me out. Four thousand years of history in the west proves nothing if it doesn't prove that people will lie, lie, lie to get themselves into office. And, of course, once their in office, even their sincere promises go by the boards. So, the odds that any given politician's promises are actually reliable are what? 10[SUP]23 [/SUP]to 1?
Guarantee you a bookie has way, way better odds for someone taking a chance.
