Time to move to a freer state if this is true.

SB 140 to be broken up

    http://www.news4jax.com/news/senate-...major-gun-bill

Translation: open carry is dead and the parts of the bill repealing certain "gun free" zones will be introduced as separate bills in an attempt to make one or more stick. A fool's errand in my opinion.
“If the natural tendencies of mankind are so bad that it is not safe to permit people to be free, how is it that the tendencies of these organizers are always good? Do not the legislators and their appointed agents also belong to the human race? Or do they believe that they themselves are made of a finer clay than the rest of mankind? ” -Bastiat

I don't "need" to openly carry a handgun or own an "assault weapon" any more than Rosa Parks needed a seat on the bus.

    SB 140 broken up

Each component of the original SB 140 is now in separate pieces of legislation, specifically there is a bill for removing each of the "fish in a barrel" zones. The new licensed open carry bill is SB 644. In addition, SB 646 would make violation of the open carry ban a noncriminal violation with a $25 fine.

In addition Senator Baxley has introduced SB 908. It removes all mythical "gun free zones" for permit holders, taking away the advantage that violent felons have over law abiding citizens in those places.

So far, no interest in Open carry in the House
