Does this GFZ airport looks correct? Says VA does not allow guns in airport baggage areas?

nbc had quite a discussion on their evening news to include what i consider a positive slant on Florida's new statutes under considerations concerning the allowing guns in aeroports.

Not to my recollection - believe it is legal in non-secured area.

The OCDO map says VA is one of the seven states that prohibit it.

"The provisions of this section shall not apply........ to any passenger of an airline who.......checking such firearm, weapon, or ammunition with his luggage, or (iii) retrieving such firearm, weapon, or ammunition from the baggage claim area."

Not all terminal buildings are "air carrier" terminals:

    • Air carrier airport terminal buildings

      • Dulles International Airport, Chantilly, VA
      • Lynchburg Municipal Airport, Lynchburg, VA
      • Newport News Williamsburg Regional Airport, Newport News, VA
      • Norfolk International Airport, Norfolk, VA
      • Reagan National Airport, Arlington, VA
      • Richmond International Airport, Richmond, VA
      • Roanoke Regional Airport, Roanoke, VA
      • Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport, Staunton, VA

Somewhere in my files, I have a picture of me OCing going up the ladder of a WWll bomber. (after going through the terminal building) of Chesterfield County Airport. Believe that user scouser was there too.

One of the better local restaurants (Riptides) formerly was located inside that terminal building and we OCd regularly there.

Aside from the fact this is in the FLORIDA sub forum and as such the quoting of other States' laws can be confusing and misleading for anyone wanting to know what they can and can't do in Florida, yes I was there at Chesterfield County Airport with Grapeshot on Oct 17th 2015. Skidmark was there with us too and I can conf\irm that yes they were both OCing and that Grapeshot climbed into and walked through a WW2 Bomber while OCing. I've looked through the photographs I took that day but can't actually see his firearm, mostly due to it being in the shadows but I know he was carrying because I can see his gun belt in the photos.

I'm sorry, did I offend you with my opinion?
You should hear the ones I keep to myself.

Oh good - another gun law we don't need.

    The second suggestion/proposal is reasonable.

the government has no legal authority or grounds to ban you from checking a weapon on board.

I didn't say it did nor does the link imply that.

The suggestion to which I refer within the article is:
"The solution here is clear: eradicate the law that mandates that concealed carry permit holders be disarmed in baggage claim areas."
