I have run for city council before and actually got some votes. The third dist. (northwest Spokane) is bad, very liberal, it will be an uphill fight. I will be seeing a couple of candidates this Friday.
The work we did a couple of years ago is very solid and I for one (I cannot speak for anyone else), am still involved in city matters.
Also, I have meet the new Spokesman Review editor (very nice guy) and will be keeping in touch about possible OC articles.

That is pretty bad that partisan politics play a major role in a nonpartisan position.

This is my third try running, & I know that I have the votes (outside of family). I know one issue for me is that a lot of the citizens here would rather stay in their own little bubbles & not get involved. I know from going to the post office that we have a few other NRA members in town, just unsure what their positions/thoughts are.

The other issue is that there are a few people in town who would rather not have their names known until the very last second & become write-in candidates, so even though a person may appear to be running unopposed, come Election Night they may not be the one who wins.

If anyone remembers in Franklin County where a coin flip was involved a couple of times, that was my family.
