'RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - More than $1.2 million has been given to schools across Virginia state in an effort to make them safer."

“These positions will help schools and law enforcement work together to provide every child with the safe and healthy learning environment they need to succeed,” Governor Ralph Northam said."

If they really wanted to make schools safer, they should emulate those schools were there are no problems like in Utah and Liberty University here in Virginia. Let good, honest people carry in these facilities.

Lots of schools in Virginia 1.2 million is not much if spread out.

Just another feel good solution.

Arming teachers and allowing armed citizen volunteers would be cheaper and more effective.

But the anti's always push for bigger government solutions.

The headline could have read,

"Democratic Governor Northam agrees with NRA - moves to supply 'good guys with guns' to public schools in Virginia!"

Alternatively, it could have said,

"Virginia schools awarded more than $1 million to make them FEEL safer"

Do the fish feel safer because they are in a barrel?
