CHICAGO Chicago police say an alleged burglar on the city's Southwest Side has been shot to death with his own gun.
Police say the man -- who was armed with a shotgun -- was breaking into a garage yesterday evening when the property's owner arrived and confronted him.
Police say the two struggled, and the gun went off, hitting the burglar in the head.He was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Chicago police spokesman says the homeowner will not be charged because he acted in self defense.Police would not identify the slain man, saying only that he was 44 years old.

Curious isn't it... You can be sure that the homeowner's name is plastered everywhere but deep space. The criminal, although dead thank goodness, enjoys almost certain anonymity.
Ridiculous isn't it.
Well, I guess the crook won't need his day in court. He convicted and sentenced himself.
