Since the commisioners are elect officals, and it is probably funded with tax dollars, is this a public or private commision?

Meaning, can they keep us from attending the meeting while OC'ing?

If it is private, I do not like the idea of getting money from the county I live in, or having my elected officials as commisioners.

This:

"As has been the case since the Commission's formation over 35 years ago, the Commonwealth of Virginia recognizes NVRC as a political subdivision--a government agency and the Commission's basic roles and functions have focused on providing information, professional and technical services, and a mechanism for regional coordination. "

Makes me think it is consider a government agency.
