Webb pledges to sponsor National Park right to carry bill!

Do you believe that electing Webb would do more for 2d Amend. rights than electing Allen?

SNIP

. . .

Ihave possessed a concealed-carry permit for many years, and shoot regularly.
I have made no secret during this campaign of the fact that I carry. I support a
national concealed carry permit.

I also will sponsor a bill in the United States
Senate that repeals the National Park Gun Ban that disarms only law-abiding
citizens in Interior Department/National Park Service across Virginia. And I
intend to get it to the floor for a vote.

Please compare this background with that of my opponent. Individual Second
Amendment Rights are ingrained into my Scots-Irish culture, and I stand where I
stand.

I should say I am glad we have this commitment from Webb. It's better than anything I've heard from a Democrat in a long time. However I kinda question the timing though and I wonder why this didn't come sooner than 5 days out.

Might be a wash, or maybe bad for RKBA, not due to direct action by Webb. The online magic 8 ball said 'very doubtful'. http://magic8ball.luggle.com/
Funny, when I tried it said John Kerry is a MORON!!! Sorry I couldn't help myself :D

My biggest problem with Webb is that he is running on the ticket of a generally anti-gun party. This has been discussed A LOT in other threads, so I will leave it at that. If he was running as an independent, then we would have a completely different ball game.

Allen is leading by a whisker in this poll.

I really think that it sending a pro-gun DEM to the Senate would be better than reelecting Allen, at least for RTKBA.

Republicans take us for granted.

Especially if it is a guy that really means it and has the stamina to stand up to the inevitable pressure from the democratic leadership to cave on his principles.

My support is not limited to one issue, i.e RTKBA. The apple does not fall too far from the tree, and to send a Democrat into the senate just on this one issue is a huge liability. We must not be carried away on this one right and leave all the other ones unaddressed. But here is some things to think about: If Webb is elected, will he stand for Anti-Democrat party principals as promised or will he return to the flock? AND...are you willing to take the chance?

Its simple politics. A politician will lean far left or far right at the beginning. But toward the election, he will lean toward the middle to gain the moderate votes. If the Republicans lose control of Congress, prepare to reap the whirlwind.

I am not impressed. This is nothing but electioneering, even if it does represent Webb's true feelings and intentions. He claims he would go to the Senate as a maverick, against career politicians, voting strictly for the interests of gun owners. As a freshman Democrat senator, he would last about 10 minutes as a maverick. His commmittee assignments and ability to introduce or affect legislation would depend entirely on party loyalty: Harry Reid loyalty. Conform or else. I can only conclude that Webb thinks we are all too naive to understand this simple political fact of life.

Nice try.....

My take:
There's what Webb has said, and what Allen has done.

Oh yeah, there is something that Webb has done. Accepted huge campaign donations from Kerry and the Hildebeast. That tells me all I need to know about who he's going to align himself with. Thanks, but no.

This election has been the most difficult, by far, for me.

On one hand you have Allen who supported the unpatriotic Patriot Act, a disgraceful piece of legislation that tramples on the all parts of the constitution. This single item of legislation has done more to destroy liberty than any in history. Ben Franklin said that those who will give up liberty for security deserve neither, I believe we will see how dangerously correct he was.

On the other hand you have Webb while he may have one or two good intentions he is hitting for the wrong team period. The Dems are just a seething gaggle of socialists just dying to transfer full control of the US to the UN where there are true and well experienced dictators who will grab the reigns and trample the American people.

Off to the side you have a one issue candidate running on the Hippy ticket, so no different than a Dem there.

I detest the idea of allowing the dems to gain control, however I can't get my mind off of the republicans’ assault on everything else.

One thing is for certain; I will never vote for a Democrat since I do not hate America.
In my book any person who, by their vote, endorses the party that harbors the Clintons, Pelosi, Kennedy, Schumer, etc are traitors and need to be dealt with as such.

Of course, I am beginning to think that no matter how the elections go it will make absolutely no difference at all for the true seat of our government is in the courts.

I just am having a hard time trying to figure out who to write in for my vote...

Harry Reid is about as "pro gun' as John Kerry. Well, maybe a bit more. A number of my family members live in NV, and said Reid talked the talk to get elected, but when his reputation became national, suddenly he wasn't such a Nevadan anymore. He was savvy enough to realize anti gun talk would have poisoned his election chances, but on this and other issues, he has become a fence straddler at best. Don't expect Harry to propose any major pro gun legislation anytime soon!
