I prefer this article.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/metro/20040719-102254-3826r.htm

It was hard to select just one good quote from the article (there were so many) but here is a good one.

"Citizens have an inherent right to be able to defend themselves," the Fredericksburg Republican said. "You can't always have a policeman on every street corner to take care of you. Whenever you have a bunch of gun-control laws that prohibit people from carrying, the ones with the guns are the criminals. You wouldn't be able to defend yourself."

Keep on packing!

XD Owner is right. The last article wasfair. Open Carry can be alarming to many people (non gun-owners) who are simply not used to it. After all the "Man with a Gun" call is so often a result of the MIS-use of firearms, so many people are spooked. We need to be part of the answer, not the problem.

That is why it is imperative that we remember that we are all 'Ambassadors' of sorts.

When open carry is practiced, pay attention to your dress, manners, politeness, and general appearance. Your "image" as well as your behavior might well convert someone who is "middle of the road" on the issue, and that would be good.
