Gun must be in locked box and unloaded.in trunk. Also, ammo to be in another locked box. Make sure that all magazines are unloaded as well,as a loaded magizine constitutes a loaded gun in the PR of MD.:banghead::banghead::banghead:

I can't wait till I retire and get the HELL out of this COMMIE ridden state!:cuss::cuss:

I got the H-E-double hockey sticks out of that state 2 1/2 years ago and will never go back. I spent the first 28 years of my life living in the PR of MD.

I am sometimes embarrassed to say that I am even from there. Hell, they all think Ray Lewis is innocent. Is that why he hasn't come back to ATL at all since the killings?

Maybe you should get some FACTS about the Ray Lewis case instead of just coming to conclusions based on media over hype. He was found guilty for what he was guilty of, murder was not one of those things. You will find no evidence that puts a knife in Ray's hand or that he encouraged, particpated, escalated, or anything in else the stabbings.

Guilty until proven innocent.....I hope you are never a juror.

Unless I missed something, show me where I said what he was guilty of. If you want to talk about the facts, they had enough evidence to charge him with murder. And he was not found guilty of anything, he took a plea to save his hide.

I'm guessing you feel that OJ was innocent as well however.

I am all outta duct tape.

The Mrs. moved out to Pittsburgh on research assignment and left me in VA to guard the fort. I have tried to figure out how to legally carry on peacable journey while on my way to visit her. I figured I could just get a permit through reciprocity.....Thats what I get for thinking.......

I just spent about 2 hours reading through the State of MDlegalese trying to figure out how to get around unloading my pistol and mag and locking it in a box in Virginia, keeping it therefor 5 minutes while traveling through MD,then opening box and reloading in W. VA- all while driving 65mph and not getting charged for brandishing.:banghead:.

So, am I to understand that MD is responsible for my personal safety? Maybe I cancall ahead and get a MSP escort.

What is the per capita carjacking rate for MD, again?

What part of Shall Not Be Infringed is soooooo ambiguous?

There is nothing in the state statute that says a magazine outside of the gun has to be unloaded, espeically handguns on the way to hunting, target shoot, gun shop, etc. Or that they be locked. It just says the handgun must be unloaded and in an enclosed case or enclosed holster. An un inserted detachable magazine is just a part in MD and not a "gun".

Montgomerry county and Baltimore have local laws that are more restrictive though.

Sorry to bump such an old topic, but I was thumbing through some posts preparing for a dreaded trip back home to Beirut, aka Maryland. And this question reminded me of an email I got in the last couple days (I am a subscriber to the Brady Bunch newsletter).

It's not ambiguous, according to Brady, it's just being interpreted by extremist judges! Just see! If you believe the words written in the constitution, you are an extremist.

HELP STOP THE APPOINTMENT OF EXTREMIST JUDGES[/b][/b]
Our partners at CREDO Action urge you to contact the Senate Judiciary Committee Chair

Dear Brady Campaign Member,

The United States Supreme Court is expected to issue a ruling soon in District of Columbia v. Heller, which promises to be the most significant Second Amendment case in U.S. history. The Heller decision will affect the constitutionality of gun laws for a generation.

As we wait for the decision in the Heller case, our partners at CREDO Action have asked us to forward this alert to you. They are asking you to protect our nation's gun laws by making your voice heard on President Bush's judicial appointees. We hope you read it over, and if you agree with CREDO, take action.

No More Second Amendment Extremist Judges[/b] [/b]

Tell Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Leahy to block the appointment of federal judges[/b] who are hostile to reasonable gun control laws.

Dear Brady Campaign Member,

George Bush has only nine months left in office; he and his allies are still trying to ram through a set of judicial nominees that could run the courts for the next 50 years.

The Heller case before the Supreme Court is a reminder of the importance of federal judicial nominations to preserving hard-fought legislative victories against the gun lobby. The battle against gun violence is fought in courts as well as in legislatures. We must be vigilant to prevent the appointment of judges[/b] who will enforce an extremist[/b] reading[/b] of the Second Amendment.

So I hope you'll take action today to ensure that Congress will block the appointment of federal judges[/b] who are hostile to reasonable gun control laws.

Thank you for working to build a better world.

Sincerely,
Will Easton, Activism Manager
