There is no such thing as a filibuster in the House. Filibusters can only be performed in the Senate.

It's already in the House. If it makes it out of committee, it'll be up for a vote in the full House, then it goes to the Senate.

A bill can become law in days if everyone is onboard. With the Dems in control, the Republicans can't so easily stall it. I'd guess it would happen in weeks at the fastest.

forgive my lack of knowledge in this area. would this mean we can't OWN or can't purchase them. doesn't it effect how many rounds we can carry in our handguns too?

The best chance to stop it is a Presidential Veto . The Senate and the House would both need a 2/3 vote to overide a veto . This would at least stall until 2008 elections . We will need an all out effort by gun owners to lobby the White House for now and to keep a Socialist(Democratic) candidate out of the Presidency .

You really believe GWB is pro gun?????? The Republicans aren't pro gun either. We had control of everything. What did they do for us? NOTHING The ONLY reason the AWB expired was because it came up right before the election

President Bush is on record as saying he will sign the AWB. In 2004 when the last one expired he was waiting for a new one to be delivered. Don't look to him to veto this bill when it makes its way to his desk.
