Non-resident CCW in North Dakota

Hey,

I'm taking a trip out to ND with my father in August for business, and was thinking about getting my non-resident ND CCW permit now so that I can have it by the time that I go out there. My 18 year old brother is coming to. I heard that North Dakota allows 18 year olds to get their CCW's but I can't know for sure. Does anyone know if this is the case?

18 years is good according to the ND OAG. For a ND issued permit, that is.

Hey HankT,

Thanks a lot for the info. By the way, I just wanted to apologize about the way that I went off on you in the CT forums. You had every right to say anything that you wanted to, and I should have been more respectful of your freedom of speech and not been so quick to get offended. I hope you'll forgive MY rudeness and won't hold it against me in future forums/postings. After all, we are all on the same side here!

I don't know if you've proceeded down this path and this information is out-of-date, but I have a permit from North Dakota and am presently 20. Here is a useful link.

The Office of Attorney General is actually a pretty good resource. Essentially, you need to get one set of prints, and find an instructor -- they provide everything else. The total cost ran me $55.78 ($25 for the fee, $25 for the 'instruction', $5 for getting a set of prints outside my locality, and 78 cents for the stamps.

I got my permit in one month.

thanks Vote_no,

That's very encouraging! Now, can I send them my NRA pistol safety certification and my set of prints that I had taken for my CT carry permit? Would that cover it, or do I need to repeat anything for North Dakota? Also, who do I send everything to/ where can I find an application?

PT -

Why don't you just apply for your Florida and Utah CCW's?

You get a lot more mileage that way, and UT CCW is honored there.
