100 bullets but no apparently no victims in Kansas City shooting
Two groups fired about 100 bullets at each other in the 4400 block of Park Avenue tonight, but police found no one who had been hit.
Police officers who were on traffic patrol said thought they were the shooters’ intended victims when they heard the gunfire about 9:50 p.m. Then they found people on a porch who said they had been shooting back at people who were firing toward the porch — people who might be in a house across the street, they told police.
Police began surrounding that second house, but called off their operation after about 15 minutes because, they said, the bullets fired toward the porch appeared to have come from the street, not a house.
Police were still investigating about 11:30 p.m.
