Go to page 101 to read the government e-mails discovered by NRA lawyers through a FOIA request where a CA DOJ Dep. AG assures Brady campaignlawyers and Project Concern Internationalthat they can stop the legal importation of CA legal AR / AK lower receivers through confusing memos and improper regulation changes. They also talk about waiting for a "test case" to deal with the "gun nuts".

Notice the foreign phone number attached to the Project Concern International e-mails. Why do they care about CA assault weapon and "detachable mag" laws?

I thought this topic was appropriate after the discussion last week concerning what some individuals post and how it could be later used against them. In the case of the Ca DOJ e-mails, it was DOJ with egg on their face!

Always assume the following:

1. Anything you post on a public forum can and is being read by police and other government officials.

2. Once you have posted, it is out there FOREVER. Even if you delete it, it's still out there on some hard drive somewhere. And anyone who reads it can save it themselves before you even try to delete it.

3. If they really want to, the police or federal agents can find out who you are andwhere you're posting from.

The above points may not always be true all the time, but it's safest to assume they are true.

If you realy want to be anonymous and post inflamatory stuff, go buy an old daisywheel printer from a yard sale, cash only, and print out flyers and pamphlets Bejamin Franklin-style. Of course distibuting those flyers means you will likely be on some security camera somewhere, it all depends on how paranoid you want to be.

This is good advice, I think. And it's amazing to me who some of the people are that simply forget it when posting either serious or "humorous" ventings or other statements online. Especially about guns and shooting issues. Some peoplepost about who or why they would shoot someone, what to tell the cops, HOW they would shoot someone or somethings, etc.

They just don't realize what they're doing...that stuff will come back to haunt someone someday....especially when the comments are about guns and shooting issues.
