I know many of us have a love/hate relationship with the NRA but I found this pretty interesting...

The NRA and Anheuser Busch... You can get Busch Gardens, SeaWorld, Water Country USA, or Adventure Island tickets by making a contribution to the NRA... And the tickets are $25 each which is much lower than the gate price!

I'm still trying to figure out the unholy McCarthy/NRA alliance but this looks like a good deal... and it's nice to see such a major corporation supporting such a possibly controversial organization...

...and no, I am not affiliated with either... although I do have some Michelob Ultra in the garage fridge...

NRA giving away tickets to a place that doesn't allow lawful carry? Color me surprised.

I guess that is pretty ironic...

I just got this mental image of poorly holstered handguns falling from the Battering Ram as it goes upside down... That's why I have a thumb break... amusement park rides...

I just checked the Busch Gardens web site and found nothing that prohibit's fire arms.

Longwatch: where did you read/hear that they didn't allow lawful carry

Just don't eat anywhere there because most if not of all the restaurants in the park serve alcohol.
Edit to add:
Why would you patronize a place that doesn't recognize your rights? I went there because they were giving out free tickets to military members.
Also, I wonder did the NRA pay anything for these tickets?

Do they still frisk and wand at the gate like they do at the parks in Orlando, FL? I had my XD with me all vacation down there but specifically chose not to carry in the park because I didn't want to get thrown out. : (

On the other hand, and I have no idea how the ABC licenses are issued to BG, but the entire park may be considered a restaurant that serves alcohol, ergo just entiring the park with a CCW may be illegal.

Ouch. What would be a way to find that one out, I'm sure BG wouldn't tell you anything besides we don't permit weapons on our property.

Ok I checked the ABC licensee finder. Its not the whole park thats a restaurant, its just some of the villages. Which explains the signs I remember saying 'No Alcohol beyond this point'. So far I have found licenses for 'England Village','Ireland Village', French Village and Italian Village, however ABC lists these as voluntarily surrendered.
I don't know if this means BG is dry now, or is just awaiting restoration/ renewal or the database is inaccurate.

Edit to add: Looking at the database I think it just means that licensee had some minor violation or temporary suspension.

I've visited Busch Gardens the last two weekends and I can say that you do see alcohol all over the place, so I'm not sure about the legality of concealed carry.

As far as the searches go they seem to only search bags. They make you open it up and root around in there with a stick. Both times I made my GF carry the bag and I walked right through without a hassle so if you're carrying in a concealed holster the security would not be a problem. If you're carrying in a fanny pack or concealed purse you might have some issues.

Both times I went I did so without a firearm as I expected to go on some of the rides and I wasn't certain about the retention aspects. I did carry OC spray, a folding knife, a pocket knife, and a flashlight and never had any issues, not that I would expect to.

Well I'm pretty convinced now. There is essentially no way to carry concealed legally for the CHP holder in Busch Gardens. I think the 'villages' are technically big open air restaurants. So to be legal you would have to OC, which coupled with BGs antigun policy would get you quickly escorted out.
