Vacationing in NC from VA

This may need its own thread... but I am probably moving to NC in two years and I currently hold a Virginia CHP that was only issued a few months ago, so it will still be good for 3 years when I move...

Does anyone know if the permit is still valid if I move out of state or if I need to imediately get a NC permit? Anyone with a similar experience?

VA would likely be OK with continued use of the VA permit . The real issue is whether NC is OK with that arrangement . Try their State Police website , hopefully it will be as good as the VSP website.
