This is the letter I FAX'ed to both of my Senators AND my Representative (find yours here: http://www.theorator.com/senate.html
    http://www.theorator.com/government/house.html ) :

    S. 1237/H.R2074 ("Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act of 2007") –

The most horribly abusive anti-gun bill I’ve seen yet! Vote “NAY!”

Under the guise of “fighting terrorism” this bill, if passed, would completely bypass all checks-and-balances provided by the Constitution and common law for potential and existing gun-owners.

The Nuts and Bolts of S. 1237: Introduced in April, S.1237 gives the Attorney General total discretionary power to make firearm possession or ammunition possession a felony for any individual American subjectively and secretly decreed by the attorney general to be "appropriately suspected" of even the most remote connection to undefined "terrorism:' And all of this can be done by a simple, secret stroke of the pen.

READ this (directly from the proposed legislation): “`(H) The Attorney General may deny a license application if the Attorney General determines that the applicant (including any responsible person) is known (or appropriately suspected) to be or have been engaged in conduct constituting, in preparation for, in aid of, or related to terrorism, or providing material support or resources for terrorism, and the Attorney General has a reasonable belief that the applicant may use a firearm in connection with terrorism.'.

Those “terms” underlined above are both legally and Constitutionally MEANINGLESS!

This proposed bill is a COMPLETE abrogation of our Second Amendment rights – and I both expect and demand that you fight it tooth-and-nail.

H.R. 2074 is the House companion bill – kill it, too, please.

I am ALSO totally AGAINST passage of H.R.1022 (Assault Weapons Ban and Law Enforcement Protection Act of 2007 )
    (Signed)
