I'm considering a .22LR suppressor, and what I'm specifically interested in here is expertise on the merits of one brand vs another. I will probably only buy 1 .22 suppressor in my life, so (given the Form 4 challenges), want to spend my money wisely. Also, because suppressors were not included in the 1986 Machine Gun prohibition, they will not appreciate in value as pre '86 machine guns have. Thus, a suppressor isn't the investment that a machine gun is (or was). This is why there is little market for "used" suppressors and why on the MG allcan get is used.

So, back to my question: Does anybody have experience and can steer me towards a suppressor selection?

I'm interested in this Sig Mosquito + suppressor package.

It is Tactical Innovations low-end suppressor. I know there are other manufacturers, but this represents a good package + price standpoint.

    Thanks in advance.

    doug,

go by dominion shooting range. i know they will build you a suppressor and they may be able to build you one cheaper than a commercial one would cost. they are a class iii manufacturer.

Suppressed Government Model, MK II semi-auto .22 caliber target pistol. This unit is a no maintenance stainless steel pistol with stainless steel internal baffles. This will be the last of these as SWR will no longer manufacture this weapon due to the time required to manufacture them. This is the best suppressed .22 caliber pistol that I have run across. A very quite and very accurate weapon.

I have seen these for $700 but this site has them for $1300

Thanks Leo229. I should have mentioned that I'm hoping to acquire a separate suppressor that could be moved to a rifle instead of the integrated solution on the pistol. I have heard the integrated solutions are fabulously quiet.

Here's an interesting article on a professional contractor using suppressed firearms for wildlife control. http://guns.connect.fi/gow/wildlife.html

Love that picture of Dangle by the way. Its a toss up as to whether "Junior" or "Trudy" is my fav.

It is nice to have a suppressor you can use between firearms.

I plan on buying a all in one unit to start. I will also get one for my MP5.

Doug - my buddy at work has a suppressor that he interchanges between his rifle and pistol for wildlife control. I will track down the manufacturer and a review of the product from him at work tomorrow.
