Elected officials need to hear loud and clear from us that this isn't even an option to be considered.

There were 11 shootings overnight in gun free DC and Massengill wants that for Virginia ? That's the definition of insanity and HE should be involuntarily committed!

Let these folks know that any gun control recommendation won't fly in Virginia.

When will people understand that banning guns won't stop this situation?:banghead:

Criminals don't care what laws they are breaking, if they did this would happen: http://youtube.com/watch?v=S7pGt_O1uM8&mode=related&search=

It is frustrating isn't it?

You would think that people would be able to deduce this for themselves, logically of course, but seems that they just cannot do it!

Banning guns has not done anything. The only way it would ever work, is if every single firearm was destroyed and that no firearms were ever produced again... Which I think we can agree is impossible, not only to find all the the firearms, but then to get the from people.

The rest of the world would obviously not follow suit, which would lead to a ring of gun runners in the US larger than drug trafficking, and more dangerous.

It also shows how much influence the media has and how they misuse it by giving bad information.

Frustration doesn't cover it. :banghead:

That's one of the dumber comments I've heard in awhile. So, Choi of course wouldn't have brought hisgun onto VT if there was a state law banning guns on all VA campuses? So, the shootings wouldn't have happened? And this guy use to be VAs Top Cop/:banghead:

We need to do much better than this!!!

This is disgusting. I find the following two statements extremely disturbing:

The chairman of the panel investigating the Virginia Tech shooting massacre said Thursday he does not believe university leaders or police could have done anything to reduce the carnage caused by a lone gunman on April 16.

-----

Massengill said the panel also may recommend a state law banning guns on college campuses. Now, firearm policies are set by individual universities.
So, VT did everything in their ability to prevent the shooting, and in response to that students should not be allowed the means to defend themselves against such an unpreventable slaughter?!?

We will need a big turnout at the extra session.

So basically what happened is ok in his opinion?:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Oh ok, banning guns on all campus' will help how? They were banned already at VT and look how much it helped.:uhoh:

Just ask him how he will take responsibility if the next shooter ignores the law and kills more students.

When he says, "We only take comments, we don't answer questions." Just point out that you know its a self-made rule they can choose to ignore. Then politely ask him to answer the question.

Honestly now, who here actually thought that any recommendations would and/or will turn out differently? Especially considering that the VT Panel members were hand picked by Virginia’s anti-gun Governor. The out come of the whole dog and pony show was already decided when it was originally formed. The whole panel idea was there to create a so called proof that more gun control is what Virginia wants. The panel went around town to town and place to place to give an opportunity for the public to comment....while all it heard was guns have to be banned because that is what they were told to hear. When the GA does their thing next year and pass more anti-gun laws they will be able to say 'well that is all the VT panel heard and they gave plenty of time for the public to comment otherwise'.

Yes, we could tell by the fact that Kaine cherry picked who was on the panel that it wasn't good, but that doesn't detract from the needto turn the heat on them now.

click the links, send some emails and come Mondaypick up the phones and call the people above - all of them. If you've seen one thing with the recent fall out over civil remedial fees it's that when there's a lot of pressure, elected officials will run for political cover. Don't B!tch about it here, b!tch about it to the elected officials above!

Maybe would should suggest that these dip{poop}-headed panelists pass a state law banning campus shootings, instead.

I mean, it would make as much sense, right?
