To continue Bravo_Sierra's thread here: http://opencarry.mywowbb.com/forum6/3496.html

I have open carried all over Southern Nevada at various times, and so far, have not had a bad experience with citizens or LEO.

Lowe's on a Saturday afternoon. Only comment was "Hey Bob" from one of the young employees that lives with his parents on our street.

Outback Steakhouse on Sunset near Green Valley Pkwy. Went to dinner on a Saturday evening with my wife and youngest son (2 months). Older two kids were at home with a sitter.

Pic 'n Save on Warm Springs near Gibson. My wife wanted me to look at a roll away bed they had to keep in one of the kid's rooms for guests. We stopped here after dinner at Outback on Saturday night. Walked around the store, spoke to a couple employees. Left just as they were closing about 9pm.

CVS Pharmacy at Horizon Ridge Pkwy and Horizon Dr. Went in one evening to pick up a few things for my wife. It was about 8pm on a Friday or Saturday night.

The Gun Store on Tropicana near Maryland Pkwy. Walked in, talked with a few employees, left.

Speedee Mart/Shell gas station at Horizon Ridge and Mission. Both out pumping gas, and in the convenience store to get various things.

Numerous gas stations and convenience stores in Pahrump. I was out for a 4 day class at Front Sight, and open carried all day every day. The only "comments" we got (I was with my Dad at the time who had flown in from TX to take the course with me) were related to the fact that we forgot to take our name tags off the back of our shirts one evening when we stopped to by a few drinks and snacks on our way back to the hotel.

I have also open carried a lot around Henderson just running errands... dropping my daughter off at piano lessons, friends' houses, etc.

Excellent! See, most people in Souther Nevada, are neutral to silent on the situation. IF they notice, they rarely say anything.

To continue my Journal

Friday 7/20/07 - Sunday 7/22/07

OC'd to CVS Pharmacy on Sunset and Sandhill to buy some batteries for my Surefire X200-A - No comment from anyone

OC'd to to Carls's Junior (same parking lot) to get some food - No comment from anyone

OC'd to K-Mart to get some camping supplies - No comment from anyone

Again, from people who don't know me: I'm 6'4" 15lbs and wear all black and a cowboy hat. I'm 28 years old and quite franlky, look a lot younger. The benefit to my OC experience is my knowledge of law and my demeanor. I don't "look suspicious."

Well, I get off work at around 830PM - Sunday - Thursday, so I'm usually out during the evening. If you'd like, we can arrange for an open carry meeting at a local feeding hole. I think if we can get a hand full of people to regularly do this, then we might be able to make a difference.

As it stands, I have been living in that area for nearly 4 years and everyone knows me. The local shops and stores understand that I'm pro gun, pro OC, and not a lunatic. :D

All-in-all,

Pay attention to the description I posted. I'm pretty easy to pick out.. tall guy wearing all black, a cowboy hat, a Sig Sauer SP2340, 2 extra mags, a cell phone, and a can of OC on my duty belt.

Allan,

Do you OC? It would be great to have at least one compatriot. :)

The last time I saw someone OCing anywhere was when my wife and I went out to Chloride, AZ (about halfway to Kingman) for their St. Patrick's day parade the weekend of our anniversary.

Rural NV may be better about it, but in incorporated Clark County, I have never seen anyone OC that wasn't with Metro.

I live in Clark County and OC all the time... I guess I don't go out that often or something.

Bravo,

I didn't mean to imply that no one does. I know you do from your posts. I just mean it is so rare as to appear almost non-existent.

Friend and I open carried in downtown Reno on Saturday evening during some of the Hot August Nights festivities with no issues whatsoever. Even walked through 4 casinos and played black jack at th Peppermill for an hour.
