Uh, oh. Does that have a PISTOL grip? Meaning it can be shot from the HIP? Doesn't he know how dangerous that is?

FWIW, this is one of several taken during that episode; I've seen several other shots. Not all are as blatant.

Nobody has noticed his finger on the trigger, and he's not looking down the sights, as in... not prepared to fire?

Looks like a total idiot from that pic. Has he ever fired a rifle before or is it just an awkward moment in time captured in that pic?

Whooweee... you can tell who the pessimists and optimists are....

My gawd, he is out in public with an AR!!!

John Kerry would never have done that.

Hey, this Brownback guy sounds like he is with it:

"There has been a debate for some period of time -- constitutionally: what does that right to bear arms mean?...I think you have to define the second amendment broadly, that it means an individual right to bear arms. Some have thought in the past that that's a collective right," Brownback said. "...I think the second amendment is as powerful as any of the other amendments."

    Nicely done, Sam.

But keep your booger hook offn da bang switch unless you're shooting. Hmm, is it possible that the news report intentionally picked an embarassing pic to post. BTW, I don't see NSL's posted pic in the link he provided. Did Radio Iowa change it out?

If he was really "with it" he would point out the obvious truth. That all rights enumerated in the BOR are individual rights and always have been. Period.

No, if he did you would know. I don't mince words.

If he knew where he stood, he would know what the 2A means.
But since he thinks he know he unintentionally exposes that he is unsure. There is no conviction or confidence in a lot of his words. .

Yah, don't you just hate it when people just think?

    I think he made a boo-boo. I'll post updates.

Maybe, but I don't think my commentary eludea to anything like that.... Do you?

I'm thinking of having them print the front and then I'll run them through my laser printer to do the back side in B&W.

I think I would have lauged at him, and then asked for his ID or name and dept. so I knew who to report him to for harassing people

I think we can call this a given fact

Not sure what your pupose of the HankT quote dredging is.

When, and if, I am not 100% sure, I will post "I think" or another variation that indicates I am not positive.

If I am positive I post it as fact or that
    "I know", etc.

Of course that was the whole point of what I wrote of Sam.

Now I know that it was completely lost on you.

Your qouting me only supports my position. <shrug>

ETA, PS: Thanks for taking all that dig up quotes that illustrate my position. That was sweet of you ... I think.:celebrate

So we can asume that a politico that "thinks" he is on your side is a-ok with you.
I would rather he know what side he is on as I "think" he would be less likely to flip-flop on us after being elected...

But he has on his eye and ear protection and his NRA shooter's vest and everyone is behind him ... and plenty of media attention (including now OCDO), what more could HE want?

Hank, I thought that you of all people would get my post. Sinister can mean lefthanded.

Kackhanded is another euphemism for left-handedness. From the Islamic tradition of using the left hand for 'unprotected' personal cleanliness, saving the dexterous right hand for eating and greeting.

Try a lefthanded handshake with a Moslem, or offer a morsel of food left handed. Just showing your shoe sole is insulting.

So what you're saying is that by having an airbrushed US GI bootprint on my truck, I'm offending Muslims? Or does it have to be a real shoe sole?

An airbrushed 'sole' (or soul) is only virtually offensive.

I was watching Frontline story about Somalia, and there was news footage of crowds of people protesting US presence by holding their shoes up with the soles facing American helicopters as they flew by. I wondered what that was all about until the narrator explained it. He also said some Somalis may have thought the Rangers were insulting them because of their practice of sitting in the doorway of the helo with their feet dangling out, thus displaying the soles of their boots to the people on the street below, but I think that's a stretch.

Which is a 'stretch,' the giving or the perception? I doubt the insulting intent of sitting with one's feet dangling. It would be surprising but not unreasonable for Somali aborigines to take offense.

Offense, like beauty, lies in the eye of the beholder - and not in the mouth of the base chapman (trying to get as close to what Shakespeare DID say as possible - if the reference is not recognized, that's OK it's a stretch).
