I had an encounter with Black Security Company at the Oasis Casino in Mesquite Nevada early this morning.

I often escort a group of attractive young ladies dancing. One of these ladies is my wife, and the rest are her friends. These are nice looking girls and I enjoy taking them dancing and having a good time. I never drink, and I always carry my firearm concealed. I half-jokingly refer to myself as their bodyguard.

Early this morning I was at the "Rock-it" bar in Mesquite Nevada. I was there for about 2 hours watching the band, and watching people dance. The security lieutenant (I failed to get his name) enjoyed being the center of attention. First off one of the ladies with me caught him staring down her shirt.
She asked him, "Are you looking for something?". The guy was also really creepy with the cocktail waitress rubbing her shoulders, and whispering in her ear.
Secondly everybody was enjoying watching a male dancer on the floor who had been drinking a little. The guy was causing no trouble, just dancing a little crazy.
The man was told that he can no longer dance, and can no longer drink because he was, "making people mad". Thirdly a lady fell down on the dance floor and this same lieutenant told her she could no longer dance. It was obvious that the security enjoyed being the center of attention. He even danced a little on the floor himself while picking up empty bottles/glasses. It reminded me of an episode of Reno 911, including his porn star mustache.....

Now to the point of the story. Another area of the casino (called DJ Inferno or something) has an escalator that takes people upstairs. We wanted to see what was upstairs, but security was wanding people prior to entering. I asked the security person (a different guy than previously referred to) if they allow legal concealed carry within the area.
I showed the guy my permit, and he turned around and said, "I don't know let me ask my lieutenant". Sure enough it as Mr. Mustache. He told me, "Your permit is not valid on private property. You must leave the casino immediately." He got on his radio and said, "I will be escorting a CCW out the front doors". It was a long walk so I decided to educate him a little.
I told him, "My permit is valid on your property, but when you ask me to leave I am happy to do so."
He insisted that, "Your permit is not valid on our property and I can have it revoked."
Upon exit a real Mesquite LEO was driving by, and security waved him over. Mr. Mustache told him, "This gentleman is confused about the validity of his CCW permit."
The Mesquite LEO also told me that, "Your permit is not valid on private property, its similar to someone not being allowed to enter a private home." Of course he was incorrect, but at this point I didn't feel like arguing with a real cop.
I told the cop, "I am happy to leave, last thing I want is any trouble." I left the area, and there were no other problems. The Mesquite LEO was quite professional and polite. I had a strong feeling that the Mesquite LEO knew the security at the casino, and he knew they were being overzealous.

The ironic part of the story is I do a lot of work for the owner of the casino. When I get him in private I'm going to mention this encounter and see if he can talk to this security officer. The majority of the Casinos in Mesquite are owned by Randy Black. This includes the Virgin River, Oasis, and Cassablanca. I plan on talking to one of the Blacks and let them know that their security needs to cool their jets.
