OC in NW truck stops

My business takes me all over the Northwest. I alternate between
open and concealed carry based on my gut feeling. Have OCed at
Troutdale Flying J, Biggs Junction and Umatilla Oregon as well as
Holiday in Spokane WA.
Was in the Flying J in Lewiston Idaho the other night about nine
or ten at night and had someone take issue with my carry. It wasn't
the clerk but rather a customer, who, as he was standing in front of
me noticed. After he paid he said "you must be a police officer" I
said no, it's legal for everyone in Idaho. He then asked if I
considered that concealed. It wasn't at all so I replied no. He had
walked out by that point. As I finished paying the clerk said she
hadn't even notice until I came to the front. She then said she
didn't think I was going to do anything. I said no ma'am I would not.
She thanked me and hoped to see me again.
So not everyone in Idaho is up to speed on OC but it went well
enough. I was tired from a day of driving or I would have referred
this site orPNW OCto my inquisitor.
Just wanted to pass along my experiences, and say I am working to
bring people around to the acceptance of OC.

That is one of the main reasons for open carry.

FYI Rest areas in Montana are government property. You can carry all you want outside but if you step in to use the bathroom you are now breaking the law. :banghead:

That is not correct.  Montana prohibits concealed carry into government buildings.  Open carry is legal.

Thanks for the update! Any other areas in MT that you can OC but not CC?
