This is toung in cheek comedy, don't fry me over it to bad

I don't expect anything fancy from my guns and I don't want to spend a lot of money. So long as it is reliable, affordable and goes BANG every time that is good enough for me.

So I bought an Hi Point.

Sure it's not as fancy looking as some other guns but I don't care about such things. And maybe it doesn't perform as well as some more expensive ones but it is good enough for me.

And I'm not the only one who doesn't go in for those fancy high price guns.

I got a buddy who got one of them used guns.

You can save a LOT of money by not getting a new model. Sure some of the parts are a bit worn out and many are pretty loose but it's affordable and goes bang everytime so that is good enough for him.

I got another buddy who got one of them parts kit guns.

Yeah, they ain't exactly the same as the originals and they may have some cheaper parts on them and many have "extra" parts that really ain't suppossed to be there but they are affordable and they go bang everytime and that is good enough for him.

Another buddy of mine got one of them old C&R guns.

While it's true that most can't perform like their modern counterparts they are plentiful and affordable. The price alone makes it possible to own several for the price of a modern gun. And most have a proven track record of long service so they usually go bang everytime and that is good enough for him.

Another buddy of mine has a bit more money to spend and got one of those Eastern European models.

While I personally would never spend that much on a gun they are pretty nice for the money. And they go bang everytime and are totally reliable no matter how hard you run them.

Another buddy of mine got one of them Tec-9s.

While I'd never spend that kind of money and buy a NIB gun I secretly gotta admit this thing looks really bad ass. If I ever did win the lottery and decided to buy a brand new gun I'd probably get one of these.

And of course I got one of those buddies that just had to buy one of those high priced fancy models.

I can't see why ANYONE would want one of these. There's NOTHING they can do that my Hi Point can't do at 1/10 of the price. What's worse is most of the guys who go in for these high price fancy things only get them to try and impress people and they usually don't even know how to use them properly. If only they knew how stupid they looked with them.

I see them at the range and watch all the idiots drool over them and I just roll my eyes and be glad I was smart enough to get my Hi Point.

Wrong. They can be a barrier to entry. Not always a bad thing...

Did I mention that barriers to entry weren't always a bad thing?

Very true, I do own a highpoint among other guns. It's the one that always goes to the range even if some of the more expensive guns sit at home and pout. 9mm is cheap to shoot (well the 22 always goes too that's even cheaper). My kids and I enjoy shooting it, and I have never had a problem with it.

Mainly I just don't like ugly half naked women showing up on my screen when I am expecting gun discussion espically on the computer at work.

Guys ...

I am as big a fan of pictures of beautiful women as the next guy!!!

But many OCDO members DO read this forum at work and could get into considerable trouble if they stumble upon something like this while being observed in a cube.

If you must share something like this, please note NSFW in the thread title.

Thanks!

John
