While this is true, this is PURELY anecdotal.
I took a trip down to Daleville today to do some shooting. All went well (except for a few feeding problems in my XD due to cheap, crappy ass ammo). I had a great time, bought a new mag holder, and did a little gun shopping looking for my next acquisition.
I only OC in very very very select places and occasions, and range trips are one of those occasions. Well, I make it all the way back to Troy (about a 40 mile drive), and stop off at our local Quiznos (ocing mind you... I'm good friends with a manager) for some dinner. I leave the restaurant to go home and enjoy my prime rib philly cheesesteak sub and brocolli and cheese soup (of course I got the bread bowl! why would you even wonder that?), I got in my truck, turned the key, and heard BANG! OH *EXPLETIVE*, thought I, my gun just went off! Well not exactly.
Unfortunately, my battery had exploded in my truck. I called my roommate to come get me and take me to get a new batter and terminal (the explosion destroyed the + side terminal). While I was installing the new terminal, a Pike County Sheriff's Deputy pulled up. He asked if he could help, and I politely declined as I honestly had it under control. He even stuck around and chatted. I know he noticed my weapon, because he asked me about it.We had a conversation about our gun choices, etc... I even told him my story about getting arrested for OCing, to which his response was "That's God**** bull**** right there. IfI were you, I'd sue the piss out of Wal Mart, Andalusia, everybody I could." <----- I honestly was speechless....
I thanked him for his concern, and I finished the repairs as he went on his way. I suppose there really aregood cops out there after all.
