Colorado OC and non-resident law

I just spoke with the CBI concerning OC and was informed that such is governed by local laws. Ifthere is a law on the books concerning OC it may be enforced.

As for non-resident CC permits: The July 2007 law does notaccept "back door" permits. If you live in Wyoming with whom Colorado has reciprocity and you have a, for instance, Florida permit. It is not legal to carry concelled in Colorado. If you are a resident of Wyoming and have a permit from that state then you are legal.

That is false, the state law specifically says that cities can prohibit OC only in specific areas, where properly posted that OC is prohibited in that building or plaza or whatever..... A lot of cities have unenforceable ordinances on the books... Even the Colorado decision upholding the draconian Denver ordinance didn't allow the rest of Colorado to do whatever every local boss pleases....

OC is only governed by local laws to the extent that it does not violate CRS 29-11.7-104:
29-11.7-104. Regulation - carrying - posting.

A local government may enact an ordinance, regulation, or other law that prohibits the open carrying of a firearm in a building or specific area within the local government's jurisdiction. If a local government enacts an ordinance, regulation, or other law that prohibits the open carrying of a firearm in a building or specific area, the local government shall post signs at the public entrances to the building or specific area informing persons that the open carrying of firearms is prohibited in the building or specific area.

A municipalities' wholesale ban on OC would be invalid unless that municipality posted signs at each and every public entrance into the municipalities' jurisdiction, which is logistically impossible.
