For those that don't get the VCDL Update, this was just released -

    **************************************************
    1. Antis planning protest at Richmond gun show on Saturday!
    **************************************************

The Million Mom March/Bady Campaign is planning a protest this
Saturday at the C & E Gun Show at the Showplace in Richmond. They
are planning a "lie-in" (boy, isn't THAT the truth!) at noon near the
building. They plan on having women dressed in black to lie down for
two-minutes to represent how long it took Cho to get his guns.

I am going to have fun with this one! Cho had to wait THIRTY DAYS to
get his 9 MM pistol. More proof that gun control is a joke. Anyway,
I hope these women bring warm bedding for the month that they should
    be lying there. ;-)

I plan on talking to the press (if any shows up) and our Executive
members are discussing some possible counter-protests, like a
stand-in representing those students who might be alive today if
they, or other law-abiding students or teachers, had been armed on
    that fateful day.

The irony of this is that Steve Elliott, who runs C & E, is willing
to honor the MMM's First Amendment right at the gun show, even though
he could legally ban them from the property, as it is privately
owned. If only the MMM hypocrites could honor the Second Amendment
    the same way.

Steve is going to offer to let any of the protesters in for free so
they can see a gun show for themselves. I hope they go in - they
will be quite surprised by what they see.

While we are at it, let's pack that gun show to support C & E.

And on a final note, while the MMM's wish list for gun control would
actually make crime worse if implemented, they have a right to their
beliefs and it is important that we honor that right. That means
being polite to them, while letting the media know that the MMMs are
    simply wrong on the issues.
    **************************************************
My wife and I are planning to be there for their event and will do our part to try and get at least one of them to at least come in and see there is NO so-called gun show loophole, and how these showreally work.

    Yes, be polite to them.

Absolutely do not count on them being polite back.I have seen their level of politeness first hand.

    Expect to be baited.
I'll make you an offer: I will argue and fight for all of your rights, if you will do the same for me. That is the only way freedom can work. We have to respect all rights, all the time--and strive to win the rights of the other guy as much as for ourselves.

If I am equal to another, how can I legitimately govern him without his express individual consent?

There is no human being on earth I hate so much I would actually vote to inflict government upon him.

Is a MMM gun going to be raffled off????

That's a wickedly cool idea. The Bloomberg gun plan was a winner. An MMM gun would be the same.

I'm still waiting for somebody to bring a "This is what happens when you don't let your students, faculty, and staff arm themselves in self-defense." to a lie-in like others have suggested. The picture alone would make every newspaper across the nation. I unfortunately won't be in Virginia this weekend or next. : (

I missed your post when I started another on on this.

Anyhoo -- I'm going to be at the Showplace early (for me, anyway) Saturday to see if the MMM's show up. If nothing else, I'd like to see if the MMM's can muster more bodiesthan they did for Jessie Jackson Day.

I'm still thinking about making a sign to carry - probably something along the lines of remembering the 32 victims of Va Tech who were denied effective means of self defense.

    stay safe.

I'd assume the same-old no ammo quick-tie through the barrel deal. Their flyer just shows no loaded guns besides LEO.

Since the MMM's are planning to their thing in the parking lot outside the Showplace, OC will be possible without unloading or getting zip-tied.

    stay safe.

Uh-oh ... I hope we don't have to have to read about Train Wreck III.

TW I (Burke) and TW II (Centreville) were bad enough....

If I may try to answer - The MMM’s are doing their lie in or lie down somewhere in the parking lot of the Showplace - from what I’ve heard so far.

I have not heard of any "special" arrangements being made for the MMM's. OC is allowed on the parking lot (locked and loaded) but once you go into the show room Henrico PD does check to see that oc’d firearms are empty and quick ties are run through the barrel. If you cc (locked and loaded) you do so at your own risk if caught. What legal action (if any) can or would be taken is unknown.

If you are concealing it then you would be fine. I know your dress code so I guessed:P

Clear it outside (in vehicle) and don't stop at the table!

I want to go so badly I can taste it. I'd even have my "One in a MILLION Mom" hat made by then. But I have a "must do" that day.

If anyone can figure out how to let me be in Falls Church AND Richmond at once, please PM me before Saturday.

I did this at one of the California lie ins, even got interviewed by the local news. I think the sign makes for a good statement.
I had a thread about this on several forums, I'll see if I made one on this forum.

I would suggest that anyone that plans on being there take a couple signs that make a simple point, and be polite about it. Just point out, in a polite manor, that there point of view is flawed. If the media is there, the best publicity we can get is the MMM being jerks and rude, while we are polite and simply trying to make our point just like they are trying to make there point.
