I would venture to say that drivers' licenses account for more wrongful and accidental deaths in the US than CHPs. Also, driving is a PRIVELEGE granted by states whereas the 2A is a RIGHT upheld and protected by the Bill of Rights.

If you have a facebook account, you can search for "National Concealed Carry" and join the group. I did, there are currently under 20 members. The facebook group for the group involved with the empty holsters on campuses has over 6k people I believe.

    Group Info

Name: Support a National Concealed Carry Permit

    Description:

Support H.R. 1243: Secure Access to Firearms Enhancement (SAFE) Act of 2005 - The closest thing to a national permit; H.R. 1243 would require all states to recognize concealed carry permits from other states.

Invite as many people as you know to join this group if they support a national concealed carry permit.

    Group contact is packing.org

There's also a VCDL group in there too. 22 members when I joined. Look into that one too!

That bill proposal is two years old.

That has the current ones. Do a search for "concealed", you'll see two in the House, one in the Senate.

    HR 891 - 79 cosponsors

    HR 226 - 3 cosponsors

    S 388 - 26 cosponsors

All three say pretty much the exact same thing.

The RIGHT to travel is a RIGHT, not a privilege; the gooberment's decision to recently start calling driving a privilege notwithstanding. The common law always said conveyance on public roads was a right...this has only changed since the 1950's.

Sorry, I didn't realize that was that old. Thanks for the updated links.

I see the travel as a right too,I'm thinking that they refer toDrivers' license to operate a motor vehicle is a "privelege"...?

Considering our taxes pay for the roads, DMV and the enforcement of traffic laws, I think it SHOULD be a right.

I agree with you. Except there is no such thing as something that "should be" a right. Either it is or it's not. Something can't be "upgraded" to a right b/c human action has nothing to do with whether or not something is a right. It just is.

I knew what you meant...I'm probably being overly nit-picky. Sorry.:?
