Sounds like a vote for Devolites Davis is a vote against the Republicn base!!!

Davis Confirms He Won't Seek Senate Seat

Davis said President Bush's unpopularity is a big part of the GOP's problem. He said that the "face of the party" must change and that voters do not want "Bush III." He said Republican presidential contenders Rudolph W. Giuliani and U.S. Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) have the independent streak that the party's new leaders must possess.

Davis also said his swipes at his party will "probably" help his wife, state Sen. Jeannemarie Devolites Davis (R-Fairfax), who is in a bruising campaign against Democrat J. Chapman Petersen. A win for Devolites Davis in an overwhelmingly Democratic district would send a powerful message to Republicans that Thomas Davis's message of moderation and consensus-building on issues such as **gun control** and highway funding is the proper model, the couple said.

**"Maybe we should be talking to a different set of people," Davis said.**

If we call someone who is willing to sell their body for money a prostitute, what do you call someone who is willing to sell liberty just for the sake of getting elected.

Seriously, these people are extraordinarily dangerous. their happy little power grab will make slaves of us all.

This couple sounds eerily like a political couple out of Arkansas.

Such wonderfully moral people too. Both abandoned their families/ divorced their spouses to power climb together. Time to punt both of them from political office. They are political ******.

Kind of interesting - The Washington Post reports today at http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...110301115.htmlthat the election in VA is a test between the stength between the rising popularity of the Democatic party, and Republicans' ability to leverage an anti-immigration theme.

But if you ask real actual elected officials in VA, like I have, what THEY are watching, they will tell you all eyes are on Devolites Davis' quest to buy an election with tons of anti-gun TV advertising.

If this works for DD, it will be very bad for gun rights here and across the United States.

Conversely, if good guy Petersen wins, it will show DD'sstrategy to be a LOSER.
