To renew a CHP permit, is there some requirement now to fill out an application like it was my first time to apply for one? My current permit expires in Jan. 08, so I called the Clerk of Court in Buena Vista to see what I needed to do. He said I needed to fill out an application, and sign it in front of somebody that worked there, or a notary. Then pay $15. He sent me an application for a CHP permit. I don't even remember what I did the last time when I renewed, I know I filled out a form, paid my money. But I don't remember a form like the one that was sent. Question 10 on the the form that was sent wants documentation that I know how to use a firearm. Wouldn't they have all that on file from when I orginally applied way back in the 1990s? I've had a permit for a long time, ever since the law changed. I hope this isn't some new thing which is as a result of the Tech shooting. I can make copies of all my training. But wouldn't they have all that on file from when I orginally applied?
