Terrorism Thwarted!

UPPER MARLBORO, Md., Oct. 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Maryland Shall
Issue, Inc. welcomes Charl Van Wyk to speaking engagements in Maryland and
Virginia. Charl van Wyk is the author of "Shooting Back: the right and duty
of self-defense" and now a DVD of the same name.

In 1993, Mr. Van Wyk was in church in South Africa when three
terrorists stormed in with hand grenades and assault rifles. Eleven people
were killed, 53 badly injured. The situation would have been much worst
except that on that night Charl was armed with a 5 shot S&W J-frame
revolver - a pea shooter against AK47's, but he returned fire, wounding
several of the terrorists and putting them to flight!

As a Christian, Van Wyk makes the case that it is not only the right,
but also one's duty to defend oneself and the innocent from evil-doers. If
self- defense is abandoned then evil has free rein. If you don't defend
yourself you burden someone else with the risk for you. Likewise he
declares that gun-free zones only encourage the criminal. In "Shooting
Back" Van Wyk says, "It is ludicrous to think that criminals are going to
leave their firearms at home when entering a firearm-free zone. This merely
makes the working environment of criminals safer." Terrorist attacks on
schools were a frequent problem in Israel until the government decided to
arm teachers there.

Mr. Van Wyk will be speaking on Saturday, November 3rd at 1 PM at the
Paddock Room in the Prince George's Equestrian Center / Show Place Arena,
14900 Pennsylvania Avenue, Upper Marlboro, Maryland 20772. On Sunday,
November 4th at 6:00 PM
Charl Van Wyk will be speaking at Bethel Orthodox
Presbyterian Church, 19856 Evergreen Mills Road, Leesburg, VA 20176.

The public is welcome to either or both engagements and there is no
charge, except that as the Maryland engagement is during the Silverado Gun
Show in the Show Place Arena, regular admission charge for the gun show
($7) will be charged to enter the building.
