UPDATE:

ACTION ITEM:

For those who would like to picket the Bloomberg/Devolites-Davis press conference, come to the Hyatt Dulles parking lot at 2 PM and look for VCDL members wearing Guns Save Lives badges. EM Mike Stollenwerk has volunteered to coordinate this effort.

VCDL will have signs there or you can bring your own!

Hyatt Dulles is at 2300 Dulles Corner Blvd., Herndon, Virginia

Do your map quest, see you there!

There is a public street there too to park on I recall - Sunrise Valley Dr. - should be some public parking and Bloomberg's convoy will have to use it.

-----

Rumor had it Bloomie decided to do this because VA AG Bob McDonnell is out of the country!

"Near Dulles" is a lot of terrotory.

Anybody have an exact location?

stay safe.

From the VA-Alert (emphasis added):

******************************************************
1. NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg to endorse anti-freedom Devolites-Davis tomorrow!
******************************************************

New York City Mayor Bloomberg once again attempts to tell Virginians how to think. Tomorrow, Mayor Bloomberg, who is no longer a Republican, will be at a press conference in the Wright Room at the Dulles Hyatt to endorse anti-gun, and self-proclaimed RINO, Senator Jeannemarie Devolites Davis! The endorsement, whose location was supposed to be kept **secret** from the public, will happen from 2:45 PM to 3:15 PM. Fortunately, VCDL has eyes and ears everywhere! ;-)

As Senator Devolites-Davis is slowing drifting down toward the bottom of the political toilet bowl, she has decided to grab onto Mayor Bloomberg to make the trip a little quicker.

Also, let's flood Ms. Devolites-Davis's office with calls demanding that she stop her outrageous gun-banning behavior and renounce the support of Mayor Bloomberg!

Be polite, but firm. Call Congressman Tom Davis, too:

Mayor Bloomberg to Endorse Sen. Davis
Washington Post
Anita Kumar

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg will make a stop in Northern Virginia tomorrow to endorse state Sen. Jeannemarie Devolites Davis
(R-Fairfax) in her tight race against Democrat Chapman "Chap"
Petersen in the 34th District.

We're told Bloomberg, an independent who at one time was rumored to be interested in running for president in 2008, will mentioned Davis'
"independence and courage" and her support of legislation to keep guns out of the hands of criminals.

Earlier this year, Bloomberg got into a high-profile dispute with Attorney General Robert F. McDonnell and several other Virginia Republicans when he alleged that illegal gun sales in Virginia contribute to crime in his city. McDonnell warned New York to stop sending private agents into Virginia to look for illegal gun sales, saying that the agents could face legal action.

The Bloomberg endorsement will take place near Dulles International Airport tomorrow, less than a week before Tuesday's election.

People who are so eager to turn live in Socialist Utopian Nirvana like NY should move to NY instead of turning Virginia into a People's Republic.

You can't tax and regulate a society into prosperity. You aren't freer OR safer without the right to bear arms. Either these socialists are stoo stupid to know this, or they are straight up lying power hungry snakes who are intentionally injecting posion into our society.

The sad part is we can't afford to bus in loads of people to counter protest this type of stuff like the antis do. Not suggesting hiring protestors ala Jesse Jackson though - that is just wrong IMO.

YOu hit it on the head without realizing it. They are power hungry, take away the rights to arms, and you control the citizens more, therefore more power over the people, and less freedom for them.

From a VCDL VA-Alert a few minutes ago:

I was interviewed by CNN today about the Bloomberg/Devolites-Davis unholy alliance. It is supposed to be on the 5 PM news, but could be later. I am recording the CNN to try to catch the story.

--

With very, very little notice in the middle of the work day, we still turned out NINE people to protest Michael Bloomber/Devolites-Davis this afternoon. VCDL VP Jim Snyder and EMs Mike Stollenwerk and Dave Yates were there.

It would seem that there were as many protesters as there were news media types. Media interest in the endorsement seemed tepid at best and I expect that endorsement will backfire on Senator Devolites-Davis. She looks very desperate to run out of state to find someone that likes her, while at least one police organization is probably going to drop her endorsement.

The event was supposed to be kept secret, but we got the details in short order. Our protesters stayed out on the sidewalk.

Bloomberg arrived thirty minutes late and when he left, his entourage went the wrong way down a one-way road to avoid going by the VCDL members! ;-)

That was reminiscent of last January in DC when he moved an entire conference at the last minute to avoid being anywhere near a VCDL protest of his actions!

Senator Devolites-Davis probably didn't want us at her press conference as well because we stole the show when she held one on her so called "gun show loophole" bill in January.

Our members were interviewed and I expect that some of their comments will be in the media tomorrow.
I also noticed Paul Helmke, the president of the Brady Campaign, leaving the Hyatt after the event was over! I think it's extremly obvious that if Devolites-Davis is partnering with the likes of Bloomberg and Helmke, then she is about as anti-gun as they come. Hopefully on tuesday she will realize the folly of her ways.

I'm watching CNN right now and it looks like Philip's clip will be on in a few minutes! He is going to be talking about Bloomberg endorsing DD.

Update: it looks like Bloomber is going to be interviewed live on CNN in a few minutes for this story.

I came in just after Wolf started interviewing Bloomberg and DD. Thought it was interesting that he brought her onto CNN with him, as the Davis/Petersen race is hardly national news. Did I miss anything they taped with VCDL folks this afternoon?

I got the whole thing. I'm in the process of posting it.

Edit: This is going to take longer than I thought to edit it, but I should have it up later tonight.

Bloombug's lies start at 2:42. He doesn't want "gun" control, or "crime" control - what he's talking about is control, pure and simple.

Good job, Tex1n. I didn't think my dislike for Bloomberg and DD could get much worse, but it's difficult to sit through this video without punching the computer.

Sorry I couldn't make it to the even today.

EDIT: Anyone else notice the constant "scary guns and shooting" film in the background? Some things at CNN never change...
