Shortly after 10:30 pm. on Wednesday, October 31, Fairfax County Police responded to reports of the sound of possible gunshots in the 6800 block of Brindle Heath Way. Officers checking the area located the body of an adult male, with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body, on a second floor landing outside of an apartment. Information obtained indicated that a suspect may still be in the immediate area and a perimeter was established. Residents in the apartment complex were advised to stay inside for their safety.
In addition to patrol officers, negotiators, tactical officers, K-9 and the police helicopter responded.
Further investigation led officers to a specific apartment, believed to be occupied by the suspect. After repeated attempts to make contact with that individual met with no response, tactical officers entered the dwelling.They immediately discovered the body of another deceased, adult male with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper torso.
