In response to an e-mail I sent regarding Red Robin's policy on open-carry, they responded that "Connecticut law does not allow non-law enforcement to
carry weapons into restaurants that are privately owned or leased" If anyone has anything to add to this, i would love to here it. I think there legal team needs some refreshing.

Hi Erik,

Thank you for your return e-mail. The Enfield & Manchester, Connecticut
Red Robin locations are owned and operated by our franchisee, Round
Robin, LLC. (they can be reached at 860.290.1844) and I have copied them
on your request.

I do want to share with you that I was advised by our Corporate Legal
Department that Connecticut law does not allow non-law enforcement to
carry weapons into restaurants that are privately owned or leased.

Thank you for choosing Red Robin,
Jennifer

The law doesn't forbid it in CT. The Department of Public Safety website says in its FAQ section says that mature judgement says you shouldn't carry in a bar.

Personally, i only need (sort of i guess lol) laws from the state, not information about what my mature judgement tells me.

Connecticut General Statutes Section 29-28

(e) The issuance of any permit to carry a pistol or revolver does not thereby authorize the possession or carrying of a pistol or revolver in any premises where the possession or carrying of a pistol or revolver is otherwise prohibited by law or is prohibited by the person who owns or exercises control over such premises.

In other words, unless it is prohibited by law, which carrying in a restaurant is not, or the person who owns or exercises control over the restaurant has conveyed a prohibition against weapons either by posting signage, verbal communicaiton or in writing, IT IS NOT A CRIME TO CARRY A WEAPON INTO A CONNECTICUT RESTARUANT.

http://www.cga.ct.gov/2005/pub/Chap529.htm#Sec29-28a.htm

THERE ARE PLACES THAT THE CONNECTICUT LEGISLATURE HAS CLEARLY IDENTIFIED AS PLACES WHERE FIRARMS ARE PROHIBITED, BUT RESTAURANTS ARE NOT INDLUDED.
