This is for you guys in SE PA. Over the weekend I was at my Dad's in Boothwyn and he showed me a pamphlet he had gotten when he got his permit renewed. It had a picture of the DelCo sheriff on it and it stated that carrying in a car was legal as long as you have a permnit and firearm is unloaded and secured. It also had a bunch of other nonsense on it, which I cannot remember. I meant to bring it back with me and scan it in so that I could post it here and let you guys tear it apart, but I forgot. So I'm not sure how old it is, and I can't remember the sheriff's name.
This makes me pretty upset. My dad is under the impression that even with his permit, he cannot carry a loaded pistol anywhere because of this. I told him to look up the law, instead of going by some sheriff's interpretation, but he's not too internet savvy and he tends to believe what cops and other authorities tell him (like I used to).
If I were still up there, I'd look into it, but Virginia's where I make a living and all that. If I can help out with this, I will, perhaps I can do some web searching later or something. Meanwhile I think one of you guys should look into it. Maybe contact the sheriff's office and get a copy of this pamphlet or something.
If it turns out my memory is bad and I'm just smoking crack, then I guess it's all good and nevermind...
