At first, i thought utahn people were really informed about OC, but the farther and farther i go into OCing, im noticing not too many people truly know! i walk into a walmart, and ull see heads turn, and 2 nights ago i went to walmart, and this one guy was just STARING at it, then again, he looked like a pothead lol. but isnt it sad how uninformed, or MISinformed people are? its pretty disgusting that instructors are giving out false info, that should be illegal! but our word is spreading! and thats such a wonderful sight :)

Maybe my Pistol is too small, Or maybe I just look like a cop but I rarely see people even glance at my gun let alone stare.

Most of the looks are probably due to the fact that he is "just a kid" younger people tend to cause more of a stir when the are carrying a gun. When I first started OCing, I also noticed more people staring than I do now. Its all about the image, and a kid with a gun is not something most people can just look past.

Yes, indeedy, awareness is a big problem. Not only in Utah but in the rest of the country as well.

That's why a solution to increase awareness of legal and responsible OC that was proposed by a member here is such a good idea. Take a look at the thread:

Let's have a national OC day!!!

http://opencarry.mywowbb.com/forum4/6016.html

Increasing awarness should be one of the key strategic programs in the open carry community. A National OC Day would do that quite nicely.

haha well, the U.S. military persuades "just kids" to join the military... if you are 17 and a half you can... and if you are old enough to die for your country, i think you should be old enough to be called an adult

I thought OCing in Vegas would get a LEO encounter within a 5 second span... I was wrong. 4 years and going with no LEO encounters.

P.S.

Look in the Nevada section for some of my open carry journal entries.

Speaking of Vegas, are you aware of the laws with the "blue card"? How does it apply to visitors?
