VCDL Alert that just came out:

----------------------------------------
VCDL's Gun Dealer Legal Defense Fund -- help fight Mayor Bloomberg's
scheme to cripple Virginia firearms dealers. See:

VCDL's meeting schedule: http://www.vcdl.org/meetings.html

VCDL needs feedback on performance of Virginia judges in gun matters!

As required by the Virginia Constitution, judges in Virginia are
elected by the General Assembly and must face periodic re-election.
One of the gates these judges face are "interviews" by the General
Assembly's Courts of Justice Committees - and their next "interview"
will be on Friday, December 14th at 9AM at the General Assembly
Building.

Judges play a critical role in our government and are given
extraordinary powers to accomplish their job. For that reason, it is
important that we are on the lookout for judges who abuse or exceed
their legal powers.

Most judges do a great job, but there are exceptions.

ACTION ITEM: I intend to be at the hearing and make comments about
some of the judges up for re-election, but I need your help now.

If you have any information that a judge on the list below did not
properly handle a gun related matter, such as requiring more
information or documentation to apply for a concealed handgun permit
(CHP) than is authorized by state law, then email me with a short
summary of the details (e.g., your name, the judge's name, locality,
the date and nature of the problem, and any documentation you might
have).

For example, if a judge on this list rejected your proof of competence
arbitrarily, or required any "proof of residence," required an
interview, etc., I need to know about this ASAP!

The judges in Fairfax County, for example, sometimes deny CHP
applications because the applicant did not attach a copy of some
"proof of residence," something not required by Virginia statute. So
if Fairfax County judges Klein or Wooldridge have been involved in
this sort of thing, I need to now as soon as possible.
