The thread about the gun buy back got me to thinking. Imagine you buy a nice gun from someone and carry the gun. A few months to a year later, you're detained and the serial number on the gun is run. The gun comes back stolen. What are the ramifications?

- Is possession of a stolen gun prima facie evidence of theft? Is it a crime even if you didn't know?

- Does the state repossess the gun at that point?

There are many firearms that you can carry that do not have a SN. I have several. This is a good thing.

P.S. I am not talking about altering/defacing/etc, just older guns that were made without the numbers and an 80% gun that I finished.

Good thing there's no such thing as a semi-automatic assault weapon.

Too bad other people seem to think so.
I think they are going to identify semi auto "assault weapons" based on characteristics.

Basically anything that makes it scary....

  • Folding stock
  • Flash hider
  • Bayonet lug
  • Barrel shroud
  • Pistol grip
I know that I had to prove I was a US citizen when I purchased my Rock River M4 last year.

A dumb VA code requirement that can be met by proof of perm. res. alien status as well. We need to repeal this section of VA law.

We actually agree on something.. Yaa!!!!

An assault rifle is no different in its ability to kill.

Flash hiders and bayonet lugs do not kill any more or any faster.
