These numbers shouldn't be surprising. If you consider the number of uninformed citizens who aren't even close to knowing the ramifications. Proves we have more work to do.

    I just voted.

I'd like to see them replace it with a similar question:

Should all private car sales have to be conducted through a licensed car dealership?

Should all persons in this county be subject to a check to make sure that they are here legally?

Poll still open. And surprisingly close.

Should one-on-one gun sales between citizens be subject to background checks?

Hell, look here at the 'age to carry' thread, there are plenty advocating their favorite reasonable infringements. SPIT on damn nasty reasonable-regulators asses.

And when they try to defend their 'opinion' it is by appeal to personal anecdotes. Can ought but I make a principled argument for anything, even the uninfringed Second Amendment? I dispair.

Either we are equal or we are not. Good people ought to be armed where they will, with wits and guns and the truth. NRA *******

Yes, private sales should be subject to checks, but how could it be done?

Would you want to sell a gun to someone not allowed to have it? I sure as hell wouldn't.

The question what check is going to be run? On the purchaser only or would it include firearm serial numbers?

It seems it would be too much trouble to have such a system.

Not allowed by who? The same people who want to stick their noses into my private business? I trust my own judgement more than some clown in DC.

Would you want to sell a vehicle to a felon in which to elude capture?

Or gasoline to an arsonist? Or a knife to Jack the RipperII ?

Or rope or duct tape to a potential rapist?

You would penalize the innocent to protect the innocent! We have laws that cover all of these already! Big Brother get out of my life!
