What does this law do?

According to the bill sponsor, this would make Maryland a shall-issue "licensed carry" state. Similar to Minnesota, Iowa, and Indiana, where a "Permit to Wear a Handgun" is required to carry openly or concealed.

Unfortunately, in Maryland, issuance is on a discretionary basis. HB2 would remove that.

Though some may not view licensed open carry as a good thing or worthy of support, considering the facts of now the way it is, it's still better.

I'm hoping that there will be some turnout by those from Maryland who are here on thise forum.
