TINLEY PARK, Ill.— "Multiple" victims were found Saturday at a clothing store in a strip mall but there was no sign of the shooter, authorities said. They did not immediately confirm a report that four people had been killed.[/b]

Police Sgt. T.J. Grady said officers responding to a 911 call about a shooting at the Brookside Marketplace at about 10:45 a.m. found the shooting victims inside a Lane Bryant store in this Chicago suburb.

Grady refused to give other details at a news conference or take questions, but said the attacker had apparently left the area in the suburbs southwest of downtown Chicago.

"No motive has been established," Grady said. "Every store was immediately canvassed and a search by air, too, has given us every indication that the offender has left the scene."

Will County Coroner Patrick O'Neil had told the Chicago Tribune earlier that police reported four deaths.

Grady said police were looking for a black man about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 230 to 260 pounds, dressed in a black waist-length winter coat, a black cap and black jeans.

Police allowed some shoppers into parts of the strip mall Saturday afternoon, but they cordoned off the Lane Bryant store.

Tracy Caccavella said she was shopping at a Pet Smart store across the parking lot late Saturday morning when police entered the pet supply store.

"Six police entered the store with their hands on their gun holsters," Caccavella said.

The officers left after searching the Pet Smart store, she said.

There was no immediate response to calls seeking comment from Lane Bryant Brand headquarters.
Hmmm...just so happens to be in Cook County...how could this happen? I thought those EVIL guns were banned there!!! :banghead:

"We're very sad about it," a clearly shaken Mayor Edward Zabrocki said from the scene. "It's ... we're a victim of our society that we live in."

No jerkoff, WE are a victim of A society that YOU created!!! Thanks for nothing. This is a textbook case for legal ownership, possession, and carrying of defensive firearms. God this makes me sick...

+1

Add the idea thatifa citizen adopts the mayor's viewpoint, then there is nothingthecitizencan do about it, thus he is powerless to cause anything beneficial to happen, or avoid being on the receiving end of more of it.

"That's just the way it is." "Its that nebulous, vague,focus-dispersing society. (Where you can't tell what entity or situation needs correction because its too vague to tell.)(And the socialists want us to have more ofthis society.)

Oh, and now we're supposed to feel sympathetic for "we" because that's what is expected for victims--sympathy. Think of the victims! Feel bad for the victims! Never any concern for them before they become a victim, no, certainly not.

BG definitely had his target picked; a quiet store full of plus size unarmed soccermoms.
Just goes to prove that the Wolf can show up anytime, anywhere.

I have to wonder what knee-jerk reaction this will bring about...:banghead:

Mmmhmm...posted an hour after my original post. :)

The earliest post that I saw but did not post had two LEO and a K9 entering before the shooting started. I need to take the garbage out 'cause I smell something fishy in this thread.

Either we are equal or we are not. Good people ought to be armed where they will, with wits and guns and the truth. NRA KMA$$

And why did they have their hands on their holsters? Dumb cops -- the place to put your hand in such a situation is ON YOUR GUN, not your holster. ;-)

No concept of the difference between a holster and a gun.

I think the politicians hope for things like this to happen. It helps to further their anti-agenda. It's much easier to convince people that something is true, ie.gun=evil, when emotions are high and people are mourning. This is also perfect because they don't have suspect in custody. All they have to point fingers at is the gun.

Yes, I thought that was obvious, hence the smiley.

Did the mall have a no weapons policy?

If so, perhaps the BG just didn't read the sign. I'm sure this wouldn't have happened if he had. Killing a bunch of people is one thing, but NOBODY EVER violates an 'official' sign.
