I was looking into some silliness going on in Maryland regarding what the State of MD refers to as "encoding" ammunition. After a little research, I found that there are 9 states with similar ideas; California, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Mississippi, New York, Tennessee, and Washington.

Heck they even have a long list of supporters stated on the website...a whole four mayors and a chief of police.

Link to company that encodes bullets:

When will the insanity end...when?! They've tried the shell casing database in MD for years...and how many cases has that solved?

Yeah, one company produces the technology and all the bed-wetters are getting excited by it. CA had a law requiring the technology pending, and IIRC it passed but I don't recall the details.
