  • Continue to carry the fight to the Islamic radicals and goons wherever we can get to them.
  • Close the borders .. tight .. before any consideration is given as to what to do with the illegals who are already here.
  • Not sign a bill with earmarks in it. ANY earmarks in it.
  • Reduce the size of government.
  • Not allow the expansion of entitlement programs
  • Make the Bush tax cuts permanent
  • Cut corporate tax rates.
  • End AMT
  • Develop free market solutions for health care, and respect for the right of free individuals to make choices for themselves.
Talk's cheap

The election is not looking so hot for us. I'm not sure who I will, or should vote for. It will come down to McCain on the GOP side, and either Obama or Clinton for the Dems.

With Dems controling both the House and Senate, McCain will have to side with them on some issues to get anything accomplished. Something I don't think he will hesitate to do.

Who will you vote for? The lesser of two evils and shoot for McCain...?

McCain:

Good: opposes AWB

Bad: wants to ban private sales at gun shows, wants to ban affordable firearms for the poor

Until he promises to change the bad, he's not got my vote.

Getting nominated and getting elected are two different things. (I hope)

You guys are great but take heart!!!

McLamie will make it to the end however!!!:celebrate

Because of the many delegates Rommel-ny got its almost a shew in brokered convention. And that means that the delegates can vote however they choose. And with a few states left (PA and VA) that really mean something Dr. Paul has an excellent chance.

Faith my fellow mankind!

The ride seems to be over, in the sense of getting Ron Paul as the republican nominee. Putting the freedom message out goes on.

Whoa! What a year this has been. And what achievements we have had. If
I may quote Trotsky of all people, this Revolution is permanent. It
will not end at the Republican convention. It will not end in November. It
will not end until we have won the great battle on which we have
embarked. Not because of me, but because of you. Millions of Americans --
and friends in many other countries -- have dedicated themselves to the
principles of liberty: to free enterprise, limited government, sound
money, no income tax, and peace. We will not falter so long as there is
one restriction on our persons, our property, our civil liberties. How
much I owe you. I can never possibly repay your generous donations, hard
work, whole-hearted dedication and love of freedom. How blessed I am to
be associated with you. Carol, of course, sends her love as well.

Let me tell you my thoughts. With Romney gone, the chances of a
brokered convention are nearly zero. But that does not affect my determination
to fight on, in every caucus and primary remaining, and at the
convention for our ideas, with just as many delegates as I can get. But with
so many primaries and caucuses now over, we do not now need so big a
national campaign staff, and so I am making it leaner and tighter. Of
course, I am committed to fighting for our ideas within the Republican
party, so there will be no third party run. I do not denigrate third
parties -- just the opposite, and I have long worked to remove the
ballot-access restrictions on them. But I am a Republican, and I will remain a
Republican.

I also have another priority. I have constituents in my home district
that I must serve. I cannot and will not let them down. And I have
another battle I must face here as well. If I were to lose the primary for
my congressional seat, all our opponents would react with glee, and
pretend it was a rejection of our ideas. I cannot and will not let that
happen.

In the presidential race and the congressional race, I need your
support, as always. And I have plans to continue fighting for our ideas in
politics and education that I will share with you when I can, for I will
need you at my side. In the meantime, onward and upward! The neocons,
the warmongers, the socialists, the advocates of inflation will be
hearing much from you and me.

Sincerely,

Ron

Well, mathematically, McCain hasn't clinched it yet, but I agree it's looking pretty grim for Paul at this point.

I hope that when this is all over with in November that the movement continues based on ideas. RP is a nice, easy-going guy and not the greatest speaker, but it's hard to say how much of the movement is based on his personality.

Meanwhile I think the best we can hope for is a split goverment with dems in one branch and repukes in the other, so that they'll fight over stuff instead of just rubberstamping the whitehouse like they've done for 7 years.

IMO this is how we got to where we are:

1. During canvassing at gun shows here, it was apparent that a LOT of gun owners don't like Ron Paul.

2. During canvassing at gun shows, I found a LOT of gun owners don't care about politics at all.

3. The majority of People are STILL wrapped up in that "your throwing your vote away" stuff. GIVE IT A BREAK ALREADY!!

4. In states that had primaries earlier, I'm sure most gun owners voted for Thompson, yet we all know how that worked out.

5. Fools believe Fox Noise which should come with the warning label, "FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY!!!

So here we are with McCain on the GOP side and most likely Obama on the other side. Next stop, either an anti-gun POTUS or a somewhat anti-gunner in the White House. If you're in one the above 5 catagories, you've made your bed to be lied in until there's no private sales at gun shows, CCW is made illegal nation wide, another AWB is signed into law with no chance of sunsetting, all fireams are registered, and the list goes on. We could have had it our way. So disappointing.

Does McCain have any VA events? If so, I'd really like to see him answer specifically on 2-3 gun control issues. "Yes/no, would you sign them," kind of thing.

Sen. John McCain is popular with the press, but at least one former network newsman predicts that will change when it comes time for the general election, the Media Research Center's Brent Baker writes at http://www.mrc.org

"Noting presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain 'gets good treatment' from journalists, former CBS News correspondent Bernard Goldberg predicted on Thursday's 'O'Reilly Factor' that since the 'media like him because he's the one who pokes his thumb in Republican and conservative eyes, mostly conservative eyes,' that's 'going to end' and so 'as soon as it's McCain against Obama or Clinton the media goes over to the other side.'
