Anyone have any information regarding OC in CoCo, more specifically East CoCO, Brentwood, Knightsen, Bethel Island,Oakley, andByron? Or better yet, anyone try practicing OC in those areas? I live in Brentwood, and spend most of my time outside of school and work in the above areas, and a little bit in Antioch.

Just wondering if anyone has given those areas a try before I try it myself.The sherrifs out here are cool, but havent had much expierence with the PD, aside from a few I personally know.

Thanks,

Brandon

Insofar as I am aware, there are 5 or 6 individuals that have lawfully open carried here in the State of California in the past two years. What this means is, that most areas of California are unexplored territory in regards to open carry and are ripe for pioneers to forge the way ahead to propagate this concept of lawfully armed self-defense.

Admittedly, it is easier to follow in the steps of others, rather than make you own path in intimidating territory. While many places in California havent seen open carry in 40 or more years, it has been demonstrated in Shasta, Stanislaus, Los Angeles, and San Diego counties with limited interferance from law enforcement, even in urban settings.

The rules to open carry in California are virtually the same statewide.

Here are some of the resources found in this forum consolidated for easy bookmarking;

California Specific Firearms and Law Links- http://opencarry.mywowbb.com/forum12/723.html

The Benefits of Open Carry- http://opencarry.mywowbb.com/forum12/502.html

California Open Carry Flyer- http://www.paul.net/guns/CaliforniaOpenCarry.pdf

If you are not sure what local ordinances say about possession of firearms in your locality, it would be a good idea to go to the city or county clerks office, or better yet, consult an attorney and ask to see the code. In most instances, cities and counties will regulate either loaded firearms or prohibit discharge of firearms.

and BTW,.. welcome to the forum. Nice to see new people on board.:)
