Does it matter who the gun is registered to, and if so how do you go about transferring registration if you were to aquire the gun through a private purchase or as a gift?
Guns aren't registered in Kentucky.
Then why do they make you do paper work for them?
the paper work is part of the background check when purchasing from an FFL.
thats what i had thought, thanks guys
As far as sales through a private purchase, just pay the cash, and skip the taxes and paperwork. If the sale is for a handgun, it must be to a resident of the same state as yourself. Longuns may be sold interstate.
