Hey everyone, was just looking at info regarding CCW's and was directed to this OC forum. I'm from Michigan City, IN but I've lived in Munster and Dyer.

I was wondering if it was legal to OC in IN but didn't know whether or not I needed a CCW or something else. I just turned 21 a couple days ago and bought my first handgun and I'm wanting to carry.

Hopefully maybe we can meet up at a local range and shoot some rounds.

Indiana does not have a CCW, we have an LTCH (license to carry handgun). The statutes do not specify how you must carry, but you must possess an LTCH to carry at all. So yes, in Indiana, with an LTCH you can carry either openly or concealed.

I've heard Indiana takes awhile to get the permits sent but I did purchase a Taurus PT 140 Pro. It's a sub-compact with a 3.25 barrel w/.40 cal. I was going to go with a XD but the Taurus was lighter and a couple saftey stuff I liked for my first Handgun.
