Another new wrinkle from Hillary Clinton today: she wants a presidential summit on gun control.

That came up in the Q-and-A session of her stop in De Pere, after a woman asked about dealing with shootings such as the Northern Illinois University carnage.

Clinton started with the line she rolled out a couple days ago about recognizing that there is “no conflict” between letting lawful gunowners have weapons and keeping guns out of the hands of bad guys and the mentally ill.

She went on to propose a solution to coming up with a solution for the problem — kind of like her plan to come up with a plan for fixing another politically difficult problem, Social Security.

“I believe we really should have a summit where everybody comes together on all sides of this issue,” Clinton said. “Let’s figure out how we can be consistent with the Second Amendment, which I wholeheartedly support, and do more to keep people safe. [Safety is a tyrant's tool; no one can be against safety.]

“I think we can do that, but it’s going to require us all to maybe give a little and understand the point of view of the other people,” she said. “That’s something I would do as President to really bring people together.”

“We know we need better background checks and we know we’ve got to have mental health information in there,” she said.

Better background checks? Who's fault is it if they are not thorough now? The gubmit's! And what is this about all sides of the issue? Are we going to have a summit on the MSM and 1st Amendment rights? How about the 4th Amendment? I would LOVE to see a summit on the government's abuse of the 10th Amendment. Nope, just a summit on one constitutional right, the one she really doesn't like, the one that threatens her because she knows that an armed populace will never allow her fascist/socialist agenda be fully recognized. Stupid @$#&!

You must remember that once it is time to bury your weapons it is more important that ever to dig them up.

The only problem with that plan is some unsuspecting future generation will dig it up and find....

Laff - reminds me of an old joke about an LEO in a very rural area coming up on a charter bus badly wrecked on the side of the road. In the field a little way from the bus is a freshly turned long mound of dirt. On the side of the bus is the remants of a banner reading "The Hillary Express". While the LEO is looking over the accident scene an old farmer rolls up on his tractor, shuts it down and walks up to the LEO and starts talking to him. The farmer confirms that the bus wrecked the evening before. LEO asks him why he didn't call the sheriff's office. Farmer says that it was late and all the people were dead anyway, so he just got the backhoe and dug a pit there in the field and threw them in and didn't want to bother the officer's who probably had live people to worry about. The LEO is shocked (on several levels) and asks, "They were dead? All of them? Are you sure??" "Well," says the old farmer, "a few of them said they weren't, but, well you know how them politician types lie."

only a few days ago both Obama and Clinton were saying how they supported the 2nd amendment.

BTW, it appears the NIU murderer was released from government service twice, once from the army, and once by Indiana, for not being stable. why wasn't his name in the list of nut cases already?

The Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL) has a monthly meeting. The meeting is open to the public. Neither Hillary nor Obama have the courage to attend such a meeting with gun owners.

I too would like a summit on shooting tighter groups, especially from my Swedish Mauser.

Get rid of victim disarmament zones and we have reduced the problem.

Gee thanks Hill, you really think we are allowed to have guns, wow.

Which do we repeal first then, the NFA or the 1968 GCA?

What does give a little mean? Does it mean eroding God given rights enumerated in the constitution?
“We know we need better background checks and we know we’ve got to have mental health information in there,” she said.
I think that is a very good idea for all politicians, and I agree that we need your mental health information.

OK. Cool.

Your side can "give" me back my full, un-abridged rights by repealing the NFA and the GCA - and all the other regulations that these spawned - and I willendevor to understand how difficult it is for you to harbor a point of view is based on illogical emotions whichshould never be made into a law of any sort.

Deal?

Doncha love how these people like to phrase this crap as "coorperation" and "give and take" when they don't even have one single item they have considered to conceed to their political opposition.

BATF will use ground penetrating radar screening neighborhoods before the door to door search. Burying is out, especially if you have little or no land.

Plain sight caching would be better. It would allow immediate hands on, and in the privacy of your home, when necessary. Plain sight caching will likely cause the jackboots to tear up your home "knowing you got one around here somewhere". To preclude that you can leave your sacrificial gun in the ziplock inside the toilet tank. They will find that quickly, think you are stupid, and move on satisfied. Some of you already practice this in "the empty cereal box on top of the fridge", etc. The trick is to expand it to a place large enough to hide multiple long guns, or large loads of ammo.
